There was a crazy moment late in the 2nd of the Stars-Canes game. Nichushkin skated through a few Hurricanes to get a shot on goal that went in.

Goal horn sounds, everyone celebrates, but the ref behind the net waved it off even though it was obviously a perfectly crumulent goal. Benn skated up to him with a "what's wrong with you?" look.

The ref kind of hung his head realizing he screwed up. He went over to the ref's are with the other three officials, who were all also asking him why he waved it off. After they huddled for a minute, the ref announced "we have a good goal on the ice, but the play is under video review." About a minute later, Toronto confirms what we all knew was a good goal.

Refs single-handedly gave Capitals 2 points. gave 5 PP chances for Caps while ignoring their hooks, holds, interference and high-stickings infractions all game.

Those refs are gutless cowards.

Nichushkin has something like 7 points in his last 5. Starting to show that promise from early career again.

When he was on the top line with Benn and Seguin in his first season he deferred to them way too much which cost them some opportunities. Now that he's getting a chance with them again I'm really happy to see him taking more control and making good pass vs shoot decisions. He had a slow start to the season which is understandable after last season's issues(I'm still mad he didn't get surgery in Sept instead of Nov) but he looks like he's putting it all together. Hopefully hockey fans around the league haven't given up on him because he can still be what everyone anticipated two years ago.

San Jose is having goalie issues and it seems they can't buy any more PPs.

Yeesh. All of the basement teams keep winning. It's tough to gain ground in the standings now.

If the Flames win, Lumbus will be dead last.

2022 Cup to Calgary
I can't wait for the Flames to make the playoffs with bottom 5 goaltending, bottom PP, bottom PK, bottom goal differential, and bottom 5 possession

Sharks were dominating a lot of the first, but they don't even belong in the same rink as CGY this period.

Sharksjust need two power plays to tie this up. Since the Flames PK can't even go a minute without a goal against.

Agreed. Caps dominate from the second period on, didn't see any missed calls honestly. Wings hardly had the puck.

Easy to dominate when refs call all the ticky-tack stuff against one team while letting the other team get away with murder.

After Wings got going 5 on 5 I thought they looked better. Holtby looked shaky. Hopefully Wings get some games gift wrapped this week to help get the point back they lost. 5 to 1 Power Plays in Caps favor

Refs didn't even want to call the hooking against Caps, but Larkin was hooked like 5 times by 2 or 3 different players in a 5 foot span.
