Agree completely. Marchand did an excellent job of leading by example and it seemed to elevate everyone at just the right time. Lysell’s speed was good and I noticed nice hands - especially on one occasion, stick handling well in the o-zone and making things happen. Good lineup shakeup by Sacco: added Lysell and McLovin to add energy and make vets nervous, inserted Weatherspoon for some reliable d.Better. Still a little loose overall.... (too many turnovers in the middle of the ice), but the effort was there.
Wish everyone had the same competitive spirit as Marchand. The hit on Werenski made my day. The guy is locked in. Everyone on the Columbus bench was on their feet after that hit. Just so perfect coming on the PK following the hit on McAvoy. Kind of sucks that it always has to be him with the response, but also kind of great that it is.
Lysell did well in his first NHL game. Quickness and skill was apparent.
It was a monster hit, but it was clean. McAvoy was too far from the boards when the hit came. The hit on McAvoy wasn’t a bad hit, either.
