I know. I'm talking about the coaching change. This is his first game under Sorenson.
You know, it seems there always has to be a whipping boy to blame everything that is wrong with Hawks. Stan is long gone, Richardson is fired and it's far too easy to pick on Brodie, so that leaves Seth. Now that he is back from injury, he is the scapegoat. It's very convenient to blame him for everything. It makes for a great deflection of the real problems with this Hawks team and I expect it will continue for the duration of his contract.

Dude - he was brutal on the first power play...there was no reason to throw this rust bucket into a PP situation on his first game back - that's on the coach and Jones.

Happy to move on from Jones (again.... and assume that means I used to do most of my posting on another board that 'magically' or maybe it was in process for some time ... became unavailable recently - but watched the highlights ... yeh - not ideal.

Before Jones was a Hawk my argument was that I never saw him control a game from the back when his team was playing like ass. His best games were him fitting in & playing well when his team was playing well. Some of those games he was incredible but those games were not indicative of his overall night to night play. Ergo, didn't like the idea of picking him up for a Hawk's team that was in the dumps because he'd never shown himself to be a guy who carries dead weight from the back end (which is an elite talent).

But, yeah, tonight you can chalk it up to rust as an argument if you will. Okay. He was a momentum killer at a few different moments on a team that has been humming. Not a good look. I'd expect him to have his best games when his team is playing on their toes, instead he was the player he's been for some time regardless.

The thing is... His role as a QB seems to still be in place on the first game back. That's not cool. He needs to earn that role to get it back because he was terrible at it before he went down. He can defend when playing well but he's not an offensive play driver at the moment nor a great shooter etc etc. Not the guy you want to carry play in the last minute of a fantastic comeback..until proven otherwise.

His role needs to be more to his strengths right now and if he wants to show more he needs to prove it the hard way like everyone else.

Tank Commander Jones reporting for duty. Winning streak in jeopardy.
This one's a gimme
$9.5 gets a mulligan...you know ...the "rust" excuse.
"$9.5 gets a mulligan... you know, the "rust" excuse."

1+0+0= WTF?

Da 3 yutes gotta be more impactful than that putrid effect...Bedard+Nazar+Reichel combined for just 1 shotvon goal among them game prior .. Have got to be there than last game
"1+0+0 = WTF?

The three youth players need to be more impactful than that putrid performance. Bedard, Nazar, and Reichel combined for just 1 shot on goal in the previous game. They have to do better than last game."

Well well..$9.5 a goof and aGA resukt...then Mrazek let's in one he should have stopped..

2 Tank Commanders..

And now lucky Huberdeau fails on a penalty shot .
The bad Jarmafrom $9.5 te-joining the team manifests.

Two Tank Commanders...

The bad karma from $9.5 rejoining the team is starting to show."

Well started nad when Bedard had Generational Fail on clear slot shotvall alone 6 feet in front of CGY net..Followed by 3vorc4 more Grade A chance fails by other Hawks offCGY gifts of turnovers or no coverage...Wolf denied all of these great chances..Then game turned on Jones pinch and getting caught deep trying to make a hit and failing ...so shorty for Flames...
THEN THE kK turnover and Kadri Generational shot goal or Generational fail bt Mrazek to stop the shot ...Anyway period swing over to Flames and Hawks sagged back to bottom feeder mode.
Yikes!
"Well, it started off bad when Bedard had a generational fail on a clear-slot shot, alone 6 feet in front of the CGY net. That was followed by 3 or 4 more Grade A chance fails by other Hawks off CGY turnovers or poor coverage. Wolf denied all of these great chances.

Then the game turned when Jones pinched and got caught deep trying to make a hit but failing, leading to a shorty for the Flames.

Then came the turnover by KK, and Kadri scores with a generational shot — or maybe it was a generational fail by Mrazek for not stopping the shot.

Anyway, the momentum shifted to the Flames, and the Hawks sagged back into bottom-feeder mode.

Yikes!"

And right back in the dumpster...

Surprisingly readable

Gamevover..4 -1 CGY..

ANOTHER one Mrazek should have stopped..

Too many Hawks have gone MIA this game. NO PACE ..poor defending..Little sustained attack after first early part of first period...

Team didvnotcshowcup to pkay this game..

The team did not show up to play this game."

Predicted thec$9.5 effect...obviously the heights of 2nd last too much for Hawks to handle ...more comfortable in dead last ...especially realizing their great "leader" ($9 5) was back to "inspired" them to emulate his goofs and his lazy play...so Pace and hustle and effort gone into the ether..poof!
A total team stinker inspired by the return of Jones...who could have imagined it? I OF COURSE DID!

The problem is we are stick with this albatross 5 more season plus the remainder of this season..

The enthusiasm the team showed in last 3 wins immediately evaporated once Jones got thev ce. Like death struck and a stupid of fog hit the pkayers' brains.. the Pace slowed to a turkey crawl as too many players just stood and watched Flames skate past them.

Honestly they should have had Vlasic out there instead ..Jones=loser!
A Jones fail at the point. He has no first step to get on the puck once he loses it. They should have honestly had Vlasic out there instead. Jones = loser !

Nazar again Zero shots on goal..Also Reichel zero shots on goal.

Brdard credited with 3 shotsvon goal..Dickinson with 2 shotsvon goal.

Means our 4 centers got just 5 shots on goal combined.. siggest not good enough..

Hawjs won the 54.5% but this mainly duecto Dickinson who won 14 of 20 draws..

Hawks won 54.5% of the faceoffs, but this was mainly due to Dickinson, who won 14 of 20 draws."

Two things need to be done

1. Give us the only logical top 6
Bertuzzi-Nazar-Bedard
Mikheyev-Dickinson-Teravainen
(I don't give a f*** about the bottom 6. Sorenson can do whatever he wants with them, they won't score)

2. Make sure Seth Jones never sees a second of power play time

Maybe we really should put Seth Jones on the fourth line so he'll ask for a trade
