Honestly, considering Musto's track record, that is a glowing endorsement.

I have been high on Allen for a while, good to see him continue to progress.

It's hard for a lot of people (myself included) to view Allen dispassionately as he was drafted with a pick that was part of the Seth Jones trade.

I think we can all take a deep breath here and acknowledge that maybe that Seth Jones trade didn't turn out as bad as we originally thought.
the trade itself seems to have worked out fine in the long run. the contract was always the sticking point for me, and i still think if there is going to be any argument that the contract wasn't that bad, then jones will still have to prove it as we go in to the back half of that deal.

Brodie's errors make him stick out as worse

But as a whole the two aren't far apart

In theory, Allan should improve though. Brodie will continue to get worse.
The reason Brodie's errors make him stick out as worse is he is worse than Allan.

They've become far apart when considering one is a 21 year old rookie and the other a 34 rear old veteran.

Allan has improved and it's not just a theory. He's taking a regular turn on the PK, blocking more shots, and is certainly playing more physical than earlier in the season.

There's something wrong when Foligno is the 1st line winger and leads the team in shots on goal with no points, of course.

We need wingers to set up Bedard for his generational shot, not Bedard trying to set up Foligno and Donato for attempted pretty goals. It's all backwards. Then you get slow Foligno, who is unable to get to his checks as they pass the puck to each other, hemming the Bedard line in a push and causing Bedard to turn over pucks, faking to relieve pressure. Donato is unable to take pucks away to relieve pressure either. The point is, get us two fast but strong wingers to win pucks off the opposition and transition quickly, setting up Bedard on 2-on-1 and 3-on-1 rushes for the release of his shot. We cannot have one shot, Connor. We need him as a top liner, not to overpass to slow or average skaters, poor shooters, and bad puck handlers. Bedard cannot defer his shot to bum wingers. He needs to be more selfish and shoot first, but his wingers should be the ones rushing pucks out in transition, then entering the offensive zone and dropping passes to Bedard for a shot on goal and scores. Or, if the Hawks possess the puck for a lengthy time in the offensive zone, his wingers need to find him for one-timer releases of that shot. Instead, we are getting one-shot games and him overpassing to not ideal wingers who cannot finish enough goals.

They need to rethink what they are doing with Bedard.

Tinordi is two years younger, was drafted three rounds earlier (1st round vs. 4th round) in their respective draft years and has played 4X as many AHL games as Brodie has in their careers (which is also the League Tinordi is currently playing in). Let that sink in. About half of Tinordi's career NHL games were played with the TankHawks the last two seasons. Brodie is quite bad at this stage of his career but even in his current state is likely better than Tinordi has ever been.

Hall had the right idea. How many similar plays lead to a pass that isn't received and the play is dead? Try to put it on net and hope for a rebound once in a while. Maybe a pass to Donato would've worked, maybe not. Crevier was fine enough, and the three stars interview is lame and cheesy.
Yeh you're right -you have an incredibly short amount of time to make that decision. It's more like mental/instinctive conditioning for thinking on the fly.

Hawks do a lot of lame and cheezy - I remember talking about (it probably happens this year too) -last season - the PA announcer sounding like an overly enthusiastic 12 year old girl. I mean I guess that's fine, but I remember Harvey Wittenberg ... any other approach just seems like trying too hard to be 'relevant' and doesn't feel like hockey. But I mean I'm old.

Also - the one thing I found kinda funny about the Roenick tribute video - they do know what that Pearl Jam song, Jeremy is about, right? Someone looked that up there, right? It isn't just about a guy named Jeremy (that's one of the songs that Vedder enunciates pretty well on -probably not the best choice, although it did come out when Roenick was really rocking it as a Hawk in those early Keenan years.

wouldn't be shocked if it's just his favorite song and that's why it’s in there. i could for sure buy roenick as a pearl jam guy.

Wasn't aware of that - it was one of mine too (cassette.. walkman, rink, volume at 11 ... yep) ... definitely can see that as it was perfect Zeitgeist.
