OT: 119th Obsequious Banter Thread April Foods Day

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

They can definitely do that, did you ask them to release it?

They get locked down and you arent allowed to leave the service until your contract expiration so that they can collect the rest of the payment on the contract before releasing the phone as well.

Before we hired an MSP to do phones, we would have to call Verizon and request they unlock the device so that it can be transferred to a personal account

Back from Spring Training, windy cold weather in Clearwater. We got stuck in a hotel with every highschool girls lacross team in the country apparently. Had no hot water for 3 days and hotel had no room to move us into. Ended up getting two nights comped...that was pretty sweet.

This reminds me of a time when I living in my apartment in Conshy. It was home split into three levels, basement, first floor, and second floor. We lived on the Second floor, and the guy who rented the first floor was NEVER there. He stayed at his girlfriends and used his apartment for storage.

One week it got so cold that the pipes in his apartment froze because he wasn't there to turn the heat on. Our water pipes ran through his apartment and froze as well. The landlord had to go into his apartment and turn the heat on.

During this time, we didn't have water for two days, so my wife and I got a hotel room and took the difference of that off our monthly rent.

If there's any NCAABB fans here, why in the first four do teams ranked 11th play against eachother to get in?
Shouldn't it be teams ranked 16th? Why would a team that's ranked 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th have a guaranteed spot, but a team ranked 11th wouldn't?

I think it's because those higher seeded teams are teams that won their conference resulting in an automatic bid to the tourney, but they aren't necessarily better than the teams that play in the "first four"

So it seems that the phone, more so the number i guess, is still locked to Verizon because they didn't unlock it when we transferred

Just got back from NYC for the weekend.

Went up to see Dream Theater at Radio City Music Hall. Ten rows from the stage. What a great show! The encore was a song Portnoy wrote for his dad who passed in 2009, and they had never played it live before. I've seen them 8-9 times, and this was probably my favourite performance.

Anyone catch their show in Philly?

Took the opportunity to go see Book of Mormon while I was there - brilliant!

I was watching a YouTube video about luck in sports and it got me thinking about a play on Sunday. Poll: do you consider this a lucky goal?

My team just gained the offensive zone on a rush had the pick on the right circles, above the faceoff dot. It was essentially a 3 on 3 rush with a back checker. So 3 on 3 and a half. Quickly, we zip the ball cross rink, down low, through the house, to the left side. This teammate one touched it to the right side of the net above the crease, where our other guy has position. For a rush/crashing the net situation, I would consider him open. What ended up happening was the ball clanked off the goalie's stick who went for a slightly desperate poke check because, again, our guy had position and this was a quick easy/west pass down low. Ball ends up getting poke checked into the back checker's shin pad and rolls in. Non-consequential goal btw, it made it like 6-1.
