Earlier today I heard some two random teenage girls on Wenceslavs square use the words "skibidi", "rizz" and "sigma" and I have to admit to myself, I am probably finally out of the loop. The F
Skibidi is gibberish to me. I don't get that one.

Sigma, I think, is related to alpha (as in alpha male), but I don't know what the difference is.

Rizz is short for charisma. It can be a noun or a verb, which I learned fairly recently. "He's got rizz" means he is charismatic. "I was rizzing on those girls at the lake" means I was flirting with those girls at the lake.

But do you know why kids love the taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

I know just enough about Skibidi to assure you that you will only damage your brain if you pursue the thought. Don’t. It’s a web series of videos. That’s all you need.

I only knew Rizz... which makes me think it's definitely no longer cutting edge slang lol

It sounds like something Bill Cosby would have said.

Sigma is like the cool outsider lone wolf type sort of thing. Skibidi is almost always meant tongue-in-cheek, i.e. it's a fake slang word that doesn't really signify anything, or intentional gibberish in other words. Source: my kids.

In a totally "this is my job" way and not a "this is super creepy" way, I end up being in classrooms from Kindergarten to 12th, so I hang out with a lot of kids of varying age levels. My favorite thing to discuss with them is the current slang. I always try to figure out what could be the most cringe thing to say to the other age groups.

I was in a 5th grade class and a 4th grade class across the hall the next week. What was "cool" in 4th grade was totally cringe in 5th grade. The 4th graders were all about Skibidi, Sigma, and "Mewing". The 5th graders wouldn't be caught dead, but they used Rizz.

I was in a 6th grade class last year when I heard about Skibidi for the first time. A kid tried to explain it to me and told me to watch it on Youtube. I pulled out my laptop and a different kid said, "I wouldn't look it up on your school laptop."

Apparently "Bussin" is out at all levels, which is my go to for bringing the cringe.
