Spritzing seems easy enough though...cuts static. Here is the info. I'm gonna start doing it. Have my little spritzer

Still not doing it. I have two adolescent boys to rush off to school everyday, so mornings, while not quite a shit show, are still too hectic to get that particular about things.

I will very occasionally (literally count the number of times per year on one hand) drink a red bull if needed. A break the glass red bull
I feel the need to boo you. But then again, it might be different for me if I didn't have a 6 month old and two more under 6 that feel the need to just remind me they exist a handful of times a night. I swear I haven't slept for more than 90 consecutive minutes in like 5 years.

I'm usually a French press guy, unless I'm conserving expensive beans from Greenwell Farms in Kona, then the V60 is the way to go.

Yeah, WF is actually cheaper, but they just have the blends. It's like 23 for a 24oz bag, and I've gotten 12oz bags for under 11 when on sale.

No, I usually only make espresso for myself if I'm making an affogato, so I wouldn't see the point. And I'm not going to that much trouble for my wife's daily 3-shot americanos.
I highly recommend Royal Mile from Cherry Hill, which is at Whole Foods. They write the roast date on it so you're not shelling out money for 3 month old beans. It's also quite cheap for good quality. They have single origin stuff, as well as blends. Even their silly named seasonal roasts like "Christmas Jawn" or "Dallas Sucks" are fantastic.

Hmmm, I've looked at that but the packaging has always seemed a little unserious, though think I might have even tried it once when it was on sale. Don't recall what I thought of it. I'll have to give it a proper shot.

Pour over > French Press, especially if you have a nice setup.

We do have a nice gooseneck and a Baratza Encore grinder. YMMV on whether a Chemex is good enough or not, but I never went further because while I like them and will happily order one out, I didn't have the time during the week to stand there and pour. I suppose I do have the time now, but I sure as hell didn't have 15 minutes in the middle of a typical work day.

How many cups are you making? It takes me about 3 minutes from grind to brew for a cup with the V60.

Anybody put their coffee beans or preground coffee in the fridge or just try to store it in a cool dry place? Heard different things about fridge storage....

Btw...spritz your beans before grinding with water. .takes like one second. Just tested with and without and noticed a difference.

I quit cold turkey once just to see how bad it was. The headache lasted two straight weeks.
Thank god I got off of that a long time ago. It sucked but I am so much more thankful that I dont feel a need to have it anymore. It's nice occasionally now but the withdrawal sucked

I think most experts agree on NOT putting your coffee in the fridge. And I'm still not spritzing, so can the peer pressure! My wife will drink her americanos sans spritzing and she'll like it, goddam it!

Caffeine has very little effect on me. I drink coffee because I love the taste. Almost every night, I have anywhere from one-to-three cups of coffee and go right to sleep.

I won't say it has no effect on me, but I also drink coffee because it's f***ing delicious and can usually drink a cup before bed and still go right to sleep. I found this out the hard way. My first all-nighter in college, I got myself a large coffee to fuel what I was hoping would be a productive night of work. Instead, I dozed off about a half hour in, slept like a baby, and woke up in a panic because had I gotten nothing done.

Ok ok...I get it..lol. No spritz for you...or her!

Yeah putting coffee in the fridge is pretty much sacrilege.

I don't drink caffeine after about 2pm. It still effects me even though I am a daily drinker but mainly only just a shot of espresso in the morning but now with my machine...doing more cappucinos.

I don't mind decaff...La Columbe so far has the best one I've tried but don't see it around much anymore. I bought some from Mom's Organic Market...forget the brand but it is also good. Only issue with some decaff is how they process it with chemicals....
