Why is it that other people have more computer problems than me and they don't do anything other than use it for work, surfing the web or playing non graphics intensive games? Gotta figure out why my IRL best bud's laptop is stuck on the Windows boot screen.

Imagine getting drunk at bar with an elephant.

I forget which animal documentary it was that I watched years ago, but there was a segment where the camera crew found a tree in Africa whose fruit had fermented. The drunk monkeys were completely out of control and there was one elephant that loaded up on the fruit and, walking away, it wobbled sideways and practically uprooted a tree.

RIP

Power went out and then came back on 10 minutes later. Now various smoke detectors are beeping all over the place.

Replaced multiple batteries with what I assume were fresh batteries (not in a package but I wouldn’t put them back in a cabinet if they were used), but they’re still beeping.

I’m losing my mind. What the hell do I do?

Are we positive they're only smoke detectors?

Clean the dust out of them

They're sleeping and I don't want to go near them and risk waking them.

I'll happily risk burning to death in exchange for silence.
Burning to death is a horrible way to go. Suffocating from smoke inhalation isn’t much better. No, what you want to hope for is that the fire compromises the structural integrity of your house and that you are suddenly and quickly crushed to death by falling debris. Just make sure that any pets you have are safe.

That’s a very good point, but right now the fire kinda sounds good because somehow the power going out has stopped my heat from working so I’m about to freeze while I wait for someone to come fix it.

Still losing my mind.

Freezing is a bad way to go too. Sucks for you, sorry.
