There is a specific cheese blend that my favorite Italian Pizza place used in Delaware, they shut down two times and then the head pizza guy started making pizza at an italian club on friday nights here in wilmington. Then stopped altogether a couple years ago. That pizza lives in my dreams. It was a sicilian style pizza with some sort of cheese blend that was amazing.

No pizza compares, although had Santucci's when they opened a couple blocks away from the shore house in North Wildwood and that was not bad.

I've got fond memories of it from the mid 90s, too. If you did something during the school year (I forget exactly what, perfect attendance, reading a certain number of books, something like that) you got to go to a pizza party with the Principal and got a free one of those personal little pan pizzas at the end of the term.

Oh man, I looked it up that location, it's still got the old school exterior and most of the interior decoration. I may have to stop by just for nostalgia's sake next time I'm in Asheville.

It was the Book It Club. You had to read a certain amount of books to earn points for free pizza. Those were the days man. The Buffet was incredible.

Pizza Hut and dominos are slowly going away inside major cities. They exist close to airports and transportation hubs and hotels now.
Little Caesar’s is making a come back as being a reliable “you know what you’re getting” pizza, but in neighborhoods that are not so nice.
With grub hub existing, wawa can slip into that area and fill the void where little Caesar’s is not.

A new Pizza Hut just opened in my neck of the woods. Ordered out of nostalgia. The pepperoni slices are solid but plain is pretty much trash.

Im pretty sure it's only available from 4-10PM
Then they are missing a key opportunity and market.

Crime is driving all businesses out of city neighborhoods, even Wawa is closing places I. Philly.

Old school Pizza Hut was definitely different than it is today. The bottom of the crust was the difference, which was super buttery and crispy almost like the outside of a well cooked grilled cheese. I'm guessing it had to do with the specific type of pan they used to cook them in and the probable pound of butter they lined the pan with before putting the dough in.

Oh yeah, we used to get the loaded pan pizza from PH when I was growing up in western New Hampshire. It was good then.

I would say this is @Beef Invictus and the kid but pretty sure he'd be under it and she'd be disappointed

Three hours after she was supposed to be asleep, she wandered into our room, placed her stuffed potato so that it was watching Beefette feed the baby, then mumbled "sorry" and went back in her room.

I don't have children of my own, but years of working at a summer camp and dealing with my sister's three kids has taught me this is 100% true.

As soon as they hear "Are you ok?" or something else along those lines they lose it. Instead, go with "You are fine." and they just continue on their way.

I get looks from helicopter parents when something minor happens to the kids and I don’t react beyond you’re fine or you’re good dude.
The second you ask if their hurt they assume they are and “become hurt”.

Can verify. I have seen plenty of the "Please verify" looks on my children's faces in the split second after being hit/falling/etc. There's a sweet spot of exuding empathy without inducing panic. I rarely achieved said sweet spot.

There is a parallel here to the temper tantrum, where my daughter on full-out belly-to-the-floor wailing would periodically look up to gauge effect.

Why is this behavior exclusive to children?

It's not, we just get more complex about it as adults.

Take me for instance. I don't cry after bumping my knee and when someone asks about it anymore. But if I'm eating a cheeseburger at a restaurant and the fries are disappointing and the waitress asks if everything is good, I start sobbing.

From all the stories I'm surprised she doesn't have a Chucky doll or a Furby.

For me, it's when I get sick. This is very rare, maybe once every 2-3 years, so I make sure to milk it for all it's worth. I need to be brought blankets and Mrs Grass noodle soup, and generally just babied as I suffer in misery on the couch watching The Price is Right.

In more of Elon's "How can I make twitter(X) even more unreliable decision making... He's now had the headline/context removed when someone links to/shares a story. You just see the image and then the website name.

So someone sharing a story can make up whatever headline they want in their text, link to a legit news story and all that is shown until someone clicks and actually verifies it by going to the news site is the picture and website domain name.

So someone could link to say a random story about Elon and make up whatever news they wanted like so

The embedding of twitter on websites thru their API still shows the headline/context. Who knows how long that will remain, but if you were to just be on twitter and look at that same the entire bottom portion with the headline is removed.

The entire portion of stuff under the picture "
Cnbc.com
Elon Musk's X gets rid of story headlines and links in some users' feeds.
On X, the site formerly known as Twitter, some users on Wednesday were seeing news stories without headlines and links" doesn't exist viewing the tweet on twitter.
