(apparently is less than a foot in total size tho)

Pfft 20 arms. Ask any high school-aged girl and she'll tell you her last boyfriend had at least that many after 1/2 a White Claw.

why do i feel like the Metalocalypse episodes were longer when they first came out..instead there like..15 minutes lol

@landsbergfan now you can slide into her DMs and fix her.

Time to like this post and use the logic from that SNL "Why did you like it" game show segment

"Kenny" liked a post made by Megan Thee Stallion that was simply a picture of painting.

Kenny: I’m a fan of her music. [wrong answer buzzer] I’m a fan of her art. [wrong answer buzzer] I’m a fan of Instagram in general. [wrong answer buzzer] Okay, I guess I saw that post was getting less likes than the ones with Megan’s face and booty. So I thought if I like this one, it’s more likely she’d see it and she knows that I like her for more than her body, but like, for her mind. And then it’d be like a Notting Hill type of situation. She DM me, one thing leads to another and pretty soon we’re having sex. [right answer bell]

The fire moved so fast there was no warning. People in town suddenly had their houses on fire and burning so fast they were coming apart before they finished getting out. Pure hell.
I saw an official talking today and they think the fire was basically moving and spreading at close to 60 MPH and the point at which it started to the east of the town and the town itself is only a few miles. It's pretty much a small sliver of flat-land on the western side of mountain.

Bottom line :“This is not about willpower or personal choice,” said Dr. Florencia Halperin, an endocrinologist and chief medical officer of Form, a virtual medical weight-loss clinic. “This is about your brain driving behaviors.”

The new medicines have put some long-held assumptions about weight and health on the chopping block. “What these drugs have proven is that patients are right: It’s not their fault,” said Dr. Louis Aronne, an obesity treatment specialist and professor of metabolic research at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Interesting.

About six months ago, I was having terrible health issues - to the point I actually dragged myself to the doctor. He said I have diabetes. My blood sugar was 472.

I've since lost 75 lbs., my sugars were 88 this morning, and my pulse and blood pressure are showing as "healthy." Going broke updating my wardrobe. I haven't been this weight since my college days in the 1980s.

Thanks!

When you are diagnosed with having diabetes, you are basically given a roster of "recommended" foods to eat. I'll get to liquids in a sec. I did a lot of independent research on this - both videos and medical journal articles. Well, I hated about 75% of the foods they recommended, so I created a plan around the 25% I did like (meats/proteins, fruits, certain vegetables, etc.). Beef jerky was a key element, especially if you make it yourself and don't go wild on the salt (I don't use salt in mine). It's portable, delicious, and all protein. Snacking, which was my biggest bugaboo, is now mostly jerky, grapes, olives, pears, plums, cheese, pickles, hard boiled eggs, and bacon. Water is the default as far as liquids go, but one thing I did not change was my morning coffee. I needed to hang onto one thing I was used to in order to make this transition work for me. I made a deal with myself I would still make my first coffee of the day the same way I always had (cream & sugar) as long as any other coffee I had that day used Splenda instead of sugar.

It worked.

I don't/won't full-on avoid anything, except soda (my sweet, sweet soda...sigh), so if I want a cupcake, or a bagel, or an ice cream cone, I'll get one, but know that it is a one-and-done for the day. Also, any time I eat carbs, I always make sure to include a protein with it to help facilitate energy-burning. Nuts, bacon, jerky, etc., are great dietary adjuncts for those moments your body HAS to have something carbo-licious to keep your sanity. Also, if I have a hankerin' for french fries, I'll get a small order, have a handful, and be done with it. I just need to satisfy that craving, not plow the whole thing into my maw.

One of my cheats (for me) is to treat afternoon and evening coffees as a "food" instead of a being just a beverage. It satiates my appetite, it's something I like (have it cold or frozen, too), and it takes a while to consume, which keeps me from over-consuming too fast, like I would have formerly done with a family-size bag of Doritos or a bowl of pasta. Ah, pasta - yes, I still eat it. I won't eat the garbage-tasting "healthy" pasta. I go full octane, but I do it in sensible portions and have some greens and proteins with it - as well as water.

This works for me, so far. YMMV.

I tried breaking up my Monster Energy Drink addiction by switching to soda but found that I was drinking unhealthy amounts of soda to try and compensate. Back on the Monster wagon.

The people contacting those who lost homes asking to buy their property for pennies on the dollar should have the worst possible things imaginable done to them. Absolutely worst people in the world.
