Cape May is such a cute little town. We try to get down there for a long weekend at least once a year. The zoo is great as well. Free to get in (they take donations) and it's all set in a wooded environment where the bigger animals have field to roam instead of small enclosures.

I'll be there this weekend!

Beach followed by dinner at Lobster House on Friday. Saturday morning will probably start with breakfast at Uncle Bill's Pancake House, the beach again, dinner somewhere, then maybe Washington St. Mall.

Of course we are getting blasted by the worst heat wave while i'm there, but I can live with that over rain.
I jinxed myself...we got that downpour but timed everything pretty well. We left the beach beforehand and got to go to the Farmer's market on our way back as well as the West End Garage. Did our shopping and then got hit while driving back to the rental. Now all clear and nice and cool. We are at Lucky Bones across from the Lobster House. Never tried it....was as at the Lobster House last year...it was good but maybe a bit hyped. But I'll go back.

Great sunsets bayside

Don’t expect it to see it on store shelves – near the mustard or the candy aisle. People brave enough to try the new flavor can do that at French’s “Mustard Mobile” that’s stopping in three US cities, including Atlanta on July 31, Washington on August 2 and New York on August 5. (There’s a website for exact time and locations.) Fans can also enter an online sweepstakes for a chance to win a package.

It's absolute insanity out right now. Been stuck under a continuous band of insane rain for about an hour now. It just keeps backfilling and it won't move. On top of that, there's some pretty wild lightning. A flash and then almost instant thunder.
What does backfilling mean

Saturday night my wife saw on our cameras, our son running around outside in the early morning before everyone else woke up. It looked like he was chasing a rabbit, he loves chasing after them, and then talking to someone off camera.
Sunday morning we confronted him. He had no recollection of this and he has no poker face at all. “Maybe I was sleep walking?”
We watched it a few more times and realized that it was not him. It was another little boy from up the street that had on an outfit that looked damn near identical to what he had on that day. He had the same run and walk, and mannerisms. His hair was the same color and cut.
His face was never in the shot. Before talking to my son, I would have bet the house it was him.

Maybe your son's poker face is better than you think, pops. Or, of course, doppelgangers.

would like to take a long weekend down in Cape May or Sea Isle in late Sept but the prices are still kinda high lol

Beach week vacation hasn't been as relaxing as it should be. Brother in law has crawled back into a bottle apparently. He's had perhaps 3 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours and been drinking the whole time. We are pretty much taking care of his kid. Wife is gonna kick him off the trip next year at this rate.

I found out a few weeks ago that a family beach vacation with two young kids is essentially just a vacation for the kids. We went to the beach everyday for a week and I may have sat in a beach chair for a total of 7 minutes. Keeping children alive is a hell of a job.

I have an infuriating ticket selling situation going on right now.

So I sold a pair of tickets for the Luke Combs concert to a guy in a Facebook group a few weeks back with the caveat that the tickets weren't created yet so I can't transfer them yet. It had a countdown of 20 or something days until they were populated.

I took a $50 deposit with the understanding that it was non-refundable in the event that the person decided to not buy the tickets and payment on the balance would be expected when tickets were transferable.

So the weeks go by, I give the guy the guy updates like when the tickets showed up in my account but they weren't yet transferable but i'd keep an eye out on them.

Last Thursday I saw a reddit post that said that the transfer button usually becomes active one week before the show so I let the guy know this. So Friday morning I see it's available and send him a text. I don't get a response until 10:22PM saying "good, they are" and I respond yeah with a screenshot showing that they are. Twenty minutes go by and I say that i'm about to go to sleep so if he sends the money and I don't respond that's why so it's probably best to wait until tomorrow. He likes that message.

Tomorrow comes and I send a text in the morning say that i'm free all day so whenever he's ready. I get a response at 1:24AM on Sunday saying that he's out of town until tomorrow and the he's sorry just seeing the message. I respond when I wake up saying it's all good but does tomorrow mean sunday or Monday and that i'd like to have this all squared away by Tuesday.

Sunday and Monday go by with no responses.

Yesterday I say that I know he's been out of town but I need payment by the end of the day as the tickets became transferable five days ago and the concert is in a couple of days.

I hear nothing.

So this morning I send a text saying that I am relisting the tickets as the lack of responses and payment up to this point tells me that they're no longer interested in the tickets.

What do you know? I get a response. The guy is still out of town, his bank account is locked, he has a "whole situation here," and that he if I want to relist the tickets again then I have to send the $50 back.

I send a response explaining how if he's having all of these troubles he could have said something but he didn't, the tickets can still be bought by him by paying the balance, and that the $50 will be kept as it was protection for me against non-payment.

He then gives a run around about how he can't be dealing with this shit cause he's got kids and he'll be damned if he's out that money.

I provide a screenshot of him saying "how about i send you $50 now and you keep it if I don't buy them" and say the ball is in his court, I have a kid too and i'm not going to risk having to eat the tickets by waiting until the last minute.

He goes on to say that he told me that he was out of town and when he says something he does it and that he's not going back and forth about this because "I don't move like that."

I respond saying he said he'd be home tomorrow which at the latest could have been looked at as monday and that he was on Facebook/Messenger several times yesterday. He could have said anything about these situations and he didn't. I say that he can still buy the tickets by sending the balance but i'm not going to hold them and risk being stuck with them.

"Bruh, did I not just tell you what's going on? So how the hell a payment getting sent?" "Like I said if you putting them back up send my 50 back then if you. It comfortable cool. But I need that"

My response is asking how is that going to get magically fixed then? Would you trust me if I wasn't going to send the tickets until 5:45 on Friday (showtime)? I again explain that i'd keep the $50 if he didn't buy them and as of now you don't have a path to buy them and I still have presented you the option to buy them. I also say that if they sell for more than what we agreed to i'll send the money back but not before then.

No response since.

Am I The Asshole? The concert is on Friday.

Sounds like he wanted the tickets for a friend or to re sell them and it fell through on him. You were up front about the deposit and he agreed to the terms, so no you are not the asshole. How and or why would you go out of town with your bank account frozen? Makes no sense.

Growing up I swear to God if you heard a guy speaking French or with a French-Canadian accent at the shore and were on the beach there was like a 50/50 chance they were wearing a speedo or the occasional 'banana hammock'
