Would be just fun to imagine.... like... I don't know are we Finns crazy....

...but his Life is Life song from OPUS has been Tappara Tampere goal song for 38 years, since 1985.

And that one hit wonder, everybody still just loves it. It has a legacy, it's a statement.

We hear it at every game, after every goal. And when we win, I come to home and will usally listen once or twice. Crazy. And it never gets old. Because it has meaning. It means that our team did win.

And every other Tappara fellow fan feels the same.

Is there anything else that feels same at Detroit ? Maybe that "Don't stop believing" gives the same wibes for me, but that's not a goal song. It's only after wins. :D The goal song will change almost every year.

I don't know is it a "Finn thing" to keep same goal song year-after-year. Meybe it was locked after we did win Dynasty-mode 3 Championships in-a-row at 1986, 1987, 1988 after taking that to use. After that it was 15 years without any success, but the song was never changed. That did make it a legend. It did last the bad years.

Enjoy.

Side note: the “Rock me Amadeus” schtick is getting old and unoriginal and he isn’t even pro yet.
The single was one of my first records ever back in the 80ies. And I still love lots of Falco's songs (may he rest in peace after dying too young). So the song simply cannot get old for me!

We desperately need one of these later picks to turn into a Point, Marchand, Bergeron, Bratt , Robertson, Thompson, Kucherov, type steal. Here’s hoping/praying

I'm starting to think Carter Mazur is going to be a Marchand type. Hopeful

Söderblom.
No way he turns into Thompson, but hey, if he is half the player Thompson is, sign me the fk up

Carter Mazur becoming a Marchand type of pesky scorer? I wouldn't be surprised. I think 3rd line as a 15-15-30 guy is his floor but wouldn't be surprised to see him pot 25-30 some years.

As for Soderblom, I keep looking at Freddy Modin as a comparable. A guy that when he felt like it could use his size to impose his will on the opposition but doesn't have the consistency to be a real all-star. (yet)

Soderblom has the hands of a 30+ goal guy. It's just a matter of getting him to regain that confidence at the NHL level and to put him on a line with guys that can carry through the neutral zone.

How has soderblom been doing in GR? I was trying to look at his previous few games or when he last played (didn't know if he was injured or anything).

Mazur I can see as a guy who plays in the top 6 that can score but not a goal scorer if that makes sense. I think I said it before, but I think he is our new Bertuzzi, so hopefully he just isn't as injured as Bertuzzi is (even though bert has been playing like every game in boston........................)

Would love to have bert back and Mazur playing in the lineup too. Couple agitators that have enough skill to not be useless.

What little I've seen of Soderblom in Grand Rapids showed he was still pretty inconsistent, same as he was in Sweden. Top notch highlights but disappears for stretches. He's been injured lately though.

Mazur IS a goalscorer though. He's got great instincts, a very good shot and a willingness to go to the tough areas. Even as a bottom 6 guy. The potential is definitely there to be much better. Whether he reaches that is up to him.

I'll pass on the Bertuzzi coming back though. He seemed like a blockhead who could never figure out how to play defense when he was in the lineup. I'd rather we go after a guy like Barbashev or Killorn to fill out that spot. Guys that have had mostly healthy careers as well as being good all around hockey players.

I'd agree mostly on what you said with bert. I just wouldn't mind him being back.

Killorn is interesting to think about. Two cups and playoff experience could help if we are looking to make that leap next year, of which I think we will.

I always struggle to be hyped about what someone does in juniors, but Lombardi feels like the real deal for some reason.

Because of covid, the junior leagues are kinda upside down. If Lombardi was a first rounder people would be stoked about what hes doing. But since he didnt play his draft year and went in the fourth round its easy to be hopeful but not crazy until he does it up a level.

Theres going to be a lot of late round difference makers come out of these covid seasons though, so maybe hes one of them
