Apart from the loser who used his 3 day weekend to see a Penguins game, this movement is gaining legitimacy but who really works an honest 5 day workweek...especially the people on this forum...lol

I'll be honest, even if I still had to work 40 hours a week, but could work 4 days of the week, I'd do 10 hour shifts. Having that extra day off could mean the world of difference just in sleep, getting things done at home and working on yourself.

I work 5 days a week...and when I say work I mean I go in and sit in the office most of the time lol

Fed jobs have alternate work skeds like that. Many couples who met on the job and got married stay with the Fed for this reason and alternate their schedules if they have kids. Definitely makes up for the lower salary. It's actually the total compensation that matters with benefits, flex time, telework, holidays, generous leave policies and other perks.

There are two high rankings folks in the NJ dept whose systems I support who have 56 years in. With pension rules, they literally have been paying to come to work. Max possible benefit is 55 years, retiring at same salary as they get now. When you consider taxes and pension contribution, the break even for people can be as low as 38 years.

Some NJ state workers and some contactors are in a pilot program working from home 2 days a week. The Trenton mayor wants it to stop so that workers will patronize Downtown businesses, which a complete joke. There are few left because of the high crime. No one wants to be anywhere near downtown after 5 pm. Maybe he should address the crime, ya think!!!????

Fyi I will retire somewhere between Aug this year, at 59, and Nov 2025, with over 65% of current salary.

So f***ing sick! Assuming those are the zx7 mk II’s?

Did you hit them and like them? They looks awesome!
They are the zx7 mkii's. I never did hit them. I got them for $800, so I couldn't pass it up. If I don't like them, I shouldn't have any problem recouping my money. Taking them to the simulator tomorrow night. I can't wait. I got the shafts that i was fitted for when I got the TM's, but I ended up getting a different shaft because the wait time at that point for the KBS's was like 6 months

Inflation.....not all it's "cracked" up to be. Eggsample of excuseflation...

It's a shell game.

Re: work hours, no one gives a crap when I work as long as the work is done and I have hand on the pulse when it comes to my topics. For example, I did a TON of work during the TBL-CBJ endless OT game, then just sent it when game ended (at 5am) sorry not sorry,
That's the way it should be if you are responsible for project type work. Lots of places still micromanage their workers. It just all depends on the type of work one does. I am autonomous and my own boss basically but I do have to work 4 or 5 days a week. I just do straight 8's 5 days a week but there are people who work 10 hr days with 1 weekday off per week or 1 weekday of biweekly if they work 9's and do one 8 hr day..

Doesn't surprise me at all...Hockey is to expensive and a lot of the kids that are actually playing at advanced levels are from families that are wealthy, can send them to expensive camps, buy fancy equipment, live in wealthy areas that have good hockey programs.

Hockey's biggest issues arent fighting or marketing but the entry into hockey...if all kids could play hockey and it was an equal playing field then you'd see it grow like crazy.

Soccer is huge, all you need is a ball, shin pads and spikes.

I worked at a bank that shall not be named in the 1990s (which has since been bought out by a super bank) that was notorious for work-shaming people. When I'd leave at 6:30pm, others would ask me, "So, taking a half day, eh?"

The toll was definitely taken, even by middle management who were "enforcing" this culture. The irony was the company was constantly touting a work/home balance. One night, my car was hit by a semi on I-95. Pinballed my car all over the highway. Remarkably, my girlfriend and I escaped with minor injuries. Cell phones were not very common at that time, so when I finally got a chance, I called my boss from my hospital bed to tell him I wouldn't be in the office the next day. Called him before calling any family members. I knew then my life priorities needed a re-calibration.

Today, I work constantly - 40+ hours at my banking job and sometimes 60+ hours on my photography business every week. That's why I say I'll never want to stop working, because I love my work.
