The hope lies in the fact that our farm system is borderline stacked. Its not full of sexy names but it's full of names that can likely, actually help us down the road. Many guys like Sheary, Atkinson, Glendening and maybe even Chaffee, Ace and Girgensons may not be here by spring.

We suck something fierce but help is on the way.
Borderline stacked? Says who? What publication worth a salt agrees with you?

We are probably ranked near the bottom. Mid at best. And I don't care. History tells me you can have 2 Puljujarvis and a Yakupov running around your farm system and as long as they're a top 5 pick and run buck wild in WJC tourneys, your farm system is officially stacked. Watch the tape on our guys. They're either smart, dogged, high motor or clutch.

We don't need a Kucherov, Hagel, Guentzel and Point. We already have them. Shit. We may even get Stamkos back if Trotz is serious about blowing up Nashville. Idk how the money works but thats GM problems. We need a Coleman, Goodrow, Gourde, Paquette, etc and I don't think I'm crazy thinking some of these kids will at least reach that level

Disagree. We need killorns and palats and at least one more puck moving dman with a shred of offense. The PP lacks a shooter. The team is in decline. No one in the minors will change that. But I like where your head is...we can hope all we want. Results is all that matters.

Well it doesn't cost me anything to be optimistic because the truth is we are too far out to know. So why panic? We just gotta ride the wave a little longer. It sucks right now but we also haven't had cap space or prospects in years and this is our chance to finally be flexible again. I saw a ton of shit hockey these last few years and I had to just go along with where we were. You are still right about what you are seeing but I want see what JFBB does not being handcuffed, blindfolded and shoes tied together.

I don't imagine anyone is cool with this. If Cooper or anyone on that team is on the hot seat, fans are gonna be the last to know.

Good post. I think the team lacks identity and cohesion. In other words. Coaching is bad. Or it's just the Frankenstein methodology. Just a Mish mash of parts trying to make a whole. Hope is a good thing.

Stamkos had been struggling considerably and getting worse 5v5. It's a considerably different scenario. Cooper hasn't lost the room by all accounts, and his approach has been successful. A new defensive or maybe special teams coach could be argued for, but getting rid of Cooper 14 games into the season is not. Cooper's seat isn't even a little warm, and it would take either losing the room completely or the team becoming a lottery team this year and continuing into next season for management or ownership to make a move.
I don't know what accounts you are referring to when you say "by all accounts" but players are going to say the PC thing and the press is in love with Coop so they aren't going to go there. But in terms of their relative performance, I would say that both Stammer and Coop are on the same trajectory. Both can be effective to some degree but neither are getting the results they once got. In Stammers case he has gotten older and slower and the injuries have taken their toll. In Coop's case the results suggest that he is not pushing the right buttons in terms of lineup construction, he plays not to lose even very early in games (the Cooper Shell) and the message has gotten stale (how could it possibly have not after 11 plus seasons and largely the same core?).
