It's more of a bad 3 year stretch...
Right. Though I wouldn't necessarily call it bad, just underachieving.
The talent is there. Most teams have at least one, usually more, bad 4 or 5 game stretches. I haven't seen anything that makes me think they're done. The defense may need one depth add and they do need one middle 6 F add, but the talent and pieces are there. It's been less than 20% of a season, so all this doom and gloom is ridiculously premature, but not surprising after having been on these boards for awhile.

And your takes on here have been a joke since day one, but hey,.keep up those laughing emoji responses as if they mean a rats ass lol
What doom and gloom? I think most people here still believe we have a roster that can compete for deep runs and yet we haven't for years. When that happens it is usually the coach who pays the price and in the case of this team I think it would be warranted. If JBB can let Stammer walk - and it was the right thing to do - then giving Coop his walking papers should not be a problem.

We have a hodge podge of late prime/aging stars, meh depth, and scraps. We're not that fast of a team and we don't dig in defensively like we did during the 2020-2022 runs. Idk the identity of this team, there really isn't one.

At least with teams like the Kings, you know they play a solid defensively structure and have good team speed. Idk what we are anymore.

Except coaches that have Cooper's success rate and track record don't get fired. If he wants to leave, then sure, but JBB and ownership aren't getting rid if him just because of a couple if 1st round exits after 3 straight SCF trips. Every other post on here is spouting how bad the team is/season over/window's closed etc. It's been 14 games lulz, not 54 or 64. It's the same every year after a bad stretch, and while it's both expected and just laughable from some, it's as usual, also way too early. It's a good thing this team isn't one with some decades long Cup drought and not 3 while years, as one could only imagine the level headed tales on here.

And until this year superstars with a track record like Stammers weren't shown the door. The league is changing and allowing coaches to stick around because of their track record (as opposed to their team's current performance) is on it's way out too. Vegas is the new paradigm. Coops message is stale and not working and hasn't been for years. Time to try a different approach.

Stamkos had been struggling considerably and getting worse 5v5. It's a considerably different scenario. Cooper hasn't lost the room by all accounts, and his approach has been successful. A new defensive or maybe special teams coach could be argued for, but getting rid of Cooper 14 games into the season is not. Cooper's seat isn't even a little warm, and it would take either losing the room completely or the team becoming a lottery team this year and continuing into next season for management or ownership to make a move.

Girgensons, Glendening, Atkinson look like they will never score.
btw i looked closer at other teams to try to understand why their bottom can score and ours is so useless and i realized that the problem is not even in the forwards. Other teams have 3-4 defensemen who can move the puck and can shoot the puck. we only have Hedman and 5 dudes who have ZERO offensive talent. And this is a problem because the bottom players usually score dirty goals, right? Tipping the puck or score after a rebound, but they don't have such opportunities when the defensemen can't hit the net.

Moser has more talent than he shows but he tends to stay back more often than not.

Maybe we should judge by the current situation and not by past success? He won cups, but he did it with a stacked team. Now it's a different team and when he is totally outplayed by St. louis and Philadelphia he should leave. Every game is the same, we just wait for the first line to be on the ice and do something on its own. Everyone else just exists. this team has no structure

To be moderately fair to Cooper, the soul has been taken out of the dressing room with the removal of Maroon and to a lesser extent Bogosian & Perry. I understand needing to get younger & in general I'm all for it, but the intangibles of having a solid environment where everyone in that dressing room is held accountable are immense.

I know the job has been tough for BriseBois due to cap casualties, but his moves to retool haven't worked as well as he may have wanted to.

The hope lies in the fact that our farm system is borderline stacked. Its not full of sexy names but it's full of names that can likely, actually help us down the road. Many guys like Sheary, Atkinson, Glendening and maybe even Chaffee, Ace and Girgensons may not be here by spring.

We suck something fierce but help is on the way.

Goncalves got his chance and he looks terrible. Duke is the only player who can probably help the team.

Perhaps it is time to give 3-4 more games to raddysh to help him get his confidence back ?

If he’s wanting to “munch” points, don’t know why in the F he would start with GG and then 77 in the shoot’em. And they both try and go, so weak, 5 hole. Really? Neither one had the the approach speed to open up the skates and pads for a 5 hole shot.

They win the SO, we don’t have all this kavetching and bed wetting.

we just don’t have the depth to survive a point or kucherov injury. the lines were also ass this game, kuch should never have to play with cirelli.

We already tapped the one solution we had in the farm and that's Geekie. Duke could maybe help the lower six, but I doubt anyone else is ready to come in and make an impact. In spite of that, I wouldn't be surprised if we do see one or two come up only because Girgensons and Atkinson have been so unimpressive.

This team is hurting without Point. It didn't help that the team seemed to think of this game as the last day of work before a week long vacay. And Cooper's lines... was playing Geekie with Girgensons sort of a turn-water-into-wine test? Breaking up the Hagel - Cirelli - Geekie line was a fail for all three of them. We lost two scoring lines instead of just one with Point's absence. It needs to be reunited whether Point's back for the next game or not.

It looked like Vasy was going to luck into that 300th win with all the Flyer's shots ringing off the posts, but then it ran out with that impossible-angle backhander.

Again, it was 2 games. Coaches don't get fired over small 2-4 bad games in the regular season.
