14 while games in against that schedule? I'd take anything over .500. Couple that with the new lineup, not surprised that there would be bumps. It's a bad 4 game stretch where they missed their 1C for nearly 3 of them, no cause for major concern.
Yeah it just sucks going from 7-3 to 7-6-1 in 4 games.

Kuch is like The Sundance Kid. He has to be on the move with shit happening around him when he shoots. He's not effective just aiming and firing.

His breakaway attempts last year too were head scratchers. But I think he was better earlier in his career when he went for a deke instead of a shot. Kind of reverse for Stamkos who was much better the past few seasons just picking a target and nailing it instead of trying to do too much.

If the season was 25-30 games, it would definitely be a bigger problem. With an 82 game schedule, it's just a blip. They have a week off and should be back to speed when they get back.
What makes you so sure they figure it out? When they defend pretty well, they don't score much. When they score more, they give up quite a bit. They still have a disgusting habit of not getting the puck out when they have pretty easy opportunities to chip it out. Makes me miss Rutta.

The talent is there. Most teams have at least one, usually more, bad 4 or 5 game stretches. I haven't seen anything that makes me think they're done. The defense may need one depth add and they do need one middle 6 F add, but the talent and pieces are there. It's been less than 20% of a season, so all this doom and gloom is ridiculously premature, but not surprising after having been on these boards for awhile.

Girgensons, Glendening, Atkinson look like they will never score. Eyssimont might hit 3 goals all year. Geekie isn't fully done in the oven and they're making him learn on the fly (which I support but it's not ideal). Perbix, Lilleberg, Raddysh haven't proven they can get it done consistently on a contender type of team. McDonagh and Hedman showing age. Vasilevskiy being hot and cold. Cooper's lines not gelling very well.

Just some legitimate concerns. I hope to be wrong obviously, but I've watched hockey long enough to see the warning signs of decline/stagnation

We looked terrible, and why the f*** was Goncalves taking the first shot in the shootout. Terrible performance.
fwiw Goncalves was 7 for 16 (43%) in the shootout for Syracuse the past 3 seasons.

Would have been nice to maybe see Guentzel, but maybe Coop had him going 3rd?
