Hajek shows flashes of being a good defenseman. Skating is there, escapability is there, decent enough hands. Just needs to iron out the inconsistency.
Almost everything is coming to fruition this season, even if there is inconsistency (which was always expected). But nearly all our young players are showing good progression and/or flashes. Some are actually outperforming my expectations.

I wouldn’t only argue ADA & Fox are better offensively, I think they’re better defensively as well. They are a LOT more cerebral players than Trouba, Trouba just throws big hits and people equate that to being good defensively. And he had a hard shot, but he has no patience QB’ing a PP and just slaps it every time the pucks close to him even when there are clear passing lanes and it’s a low % shot. He’s the kind of player that a casual fan would think is good because hits & hard shot, but anyone with more knowledge about hockey would see all his glaring warts.
And his shot isn’t even as accurate as it seemed at the beginning of the season. He’s been missing the net a lot. Even so, I still have hope for him. He’s not a #1 d-man. Never was. For now, he looks like a #3/4, and it would be awesome if he can look like a #2 more consistently. Either way, our right side is immaculate. I couldn’t be happier.

Howden lays a body on the puck carrier and separates him from the puck and clears the zone.

Revolutionary.

When will the coaching staff realize that allowing easy entries is not a good thing? It's a 3-1 lead in the 3rd and Detroit still has all the space in the world in the NZ.

the Rangers have a lot of success for alarmingly often refusing to do basic things required to win hockey games.

I guess there's that.
