Feels like this should've been the score when we played them before but it's a lot nicer to demolish a good team. Even the fourth line got going a bit in this game.

We're lucky we only have one Johansson. Colorado has two.

God damn, hopefully this is proof for Cooper that the shell is not a good idea.
I think the coaching staff is only gonna get the message by realizing that we usually just dig ourselves into a deeper hole once we fall behind. That our defensive structure collapses as soon as we have to press for a goal and have to move faster than tortoises f***ing because we will go an entire week never playing faster than neutral. "Make the Lightning play with pace and they'll fall apart on their own" has been our division opponent strategy for years and it works. This was their first game in a while where they looked comfortable with a quick pace

The shell just straight up never working was never enough of a message on its own to these guys

Wow is Cirelli ever having a year. He's exceeding any hopes I ever had for him to play like a #2 center and suddenly has #1 level offensive production. Like someone else said a couple gameday threads ago - if this is what summer practice with Kucherov can do for a player, we need him have sessions with everyone on the team. That and his chemistry with Hagel seemed to have turned him into whole a new player.

Seeing the score was 8-2 Lightning, and a player had five assists, I would have guessed Kucherov and then Hedman before Hagel. He and Cirelli are trying to give Point and Kuch some competition this year.

This was the first quiet game I've seen from Geekie in quite a while. Seemed like everyone but him was in on the scoring.
