They don’t have to call itAccording to the NHL rulebook, yes.
It's a poorly written rule but it is what it is. The ref has to call it.

Yeah they could just ignore it but now that would be bad officiating. They don’t have to call it
Well some people in my living room keep switching to the Giants.Lol. He scored. And laid out Lindgren. He's been extremely noticeable.
No because Hank just came off back to backs.
I’d argue it’s stranger they did call it late in the third of a tied game than it would be if they let it goYeah they could just ignore it but now that would be bad officiating.

And that would change anything? LolYeah they could just ignore it but now that would be bad officiating.
Just send out Panarin Chytil and Fox and Florida will never touch the puckgood chance its one of those OTs where we dont get the puck
But they never really let high sticks go.I’d argue it’s stranger they did call it late in the third of a tied game than it would be if they let it go
Great his stick was lifted. Until the NHL makes a new rule that is still a high sticking penalty. You need to be in control of your stick at all times.
They do, but maybe since it was in the slot instead of along the boards they felt compelled to call itBut they never really let high sticks go.
When do the refs ignore a black and white call like a high stick unless they missed it? They don’t.They don’t have to call it
