Team was 7th in GAA in the league coming into this game, likely even better after this. For all the doombringers and naysayers among you, there definitely are quite a few silver linings in this team.

Scoring slumps happen, but good defensive play is much harder to come by. My prediction is this team will make the playoffs, and it will be much more obvious once the scoring slump is broken.

I think we are going to resemble the Kings more than the Blackhawks in the next couple years, more defensively sound and we will have to trade/sign FA to attain more offense. Love the effort tonight! We have opened some eyes around the league with this win!

They started playing the lead too much after Ekblad's goal, otherwise a really good game.

Semin arnt a +30 goal scorer anymore, its like calling Heatley a +30 goal scorer.
He scored 22 goals in 65 games last year and that was one of his worst seasons so far.

this is a very encouraging win... no barkov, pirri, huberdeau, bergy, bolland. plagued with dumb penalties. they played confident and with alot of energy all night.

Watched the game with a couple of friends, great win!!!

Luongo played yet another awesome game. Really good game overall. Happy to see Ekblad get his first goal

For this team, 22 is basically the new 30. We need a goal scorer. I don't know who, but we definitely need one.

I agree with that but I dont think Semin with his contract is the answer, way to risky to sit there with an awful contract for a couple of seasons.

As far as i know 30>22
Well, 82>65 obviously too then.

This mythical creature of a goal scorer that doesn't come with baggage and plays defense like Barkov doesn't exists, even our Pirri has his faults. That's why they're goal scorers.

Empty net with 4 minutes left? Da ****? I've never seen that before. Screw Philly for stealing Lu's shutout with 6 seconds left

2nd in the NHL in goals against
29th in goals scored
1pt out of the wildcard spot with a game in hand

This team is confusing.

With Bergy/Flash/Upshall being replaced by Trocheck/Howden/Shore I don't see the huge difference in salary with taking on a Semin/Eberle/Byfuglien type contract for the next 2-3 years.

I don't really care for Semin either, but I believe that the person who brought his name up said we should trade one of our awful contracts to get him so that would negate the terrible contract a bit.

But yeah, I'd rather get somebody else too.

The only real scorers I think are available are:
Kane
Yakupov
Eberle
Semin

(and later Sharp)

I think Tallon has to be in on Sharp for sure after this season.
