One of the few players of the new NHL that I liked and of course he's been so underrated.

Hope he scores another 1000

I haven't appreciated him as much as I probably should've but I'm so happy for him after everything he went through with those major injuries.

600 seems possible (if not likely with the forward group for Tampa). Could see him flirting with 650 with some longevity. 700 probably out of reach. So much depends on staying healthy at this point. But he’s been maintaining 40+ pace pretty consistently.

650ish would put him Top 15ish all time. Hell of a career and shoe-in for HOF.

Stamkos is now the 48th player in NHL history to score 1,000 points with a single franchise (Backstrom and Bergeron joined that group earlier this year).

In a few more games, when Stamkos scored his 500th goal, he'll become only the 23rd player in NHL history to score 500 goals with a single franchise.

How many have scored both 1000 points and 500 goals with the same franchise? I assume it's a much lower number still.

600 seems almost like an absolute minimum for him assuming he plays a few more years with no major injury.

I agree 700 seems out of reach, so maybe somewhere in between 600 and 700. He did however just have his best statistical season ever last year (106 points),along with 42 goals, so he could end up being more prolific than expected the next few years.

Congrats to Stammer! Would've loved to have seen him play a (major) injury free career.

I'd say he's already a shoo-in for the HoF. His resume is remarkable.

Starting out with that crazy broke owner and Barry Melrose was a nightmare but he just learnt from it and just kept moving upward
Melrose was such a disaster. He was still living in the old days and trying to makenan example of Stammer for no reason.

There are 20 players who scored 500+ goals and 1,000+ points for one franchise:

Alex Ovechkin, Bobby Hull, Bryan Trottier, Gilbert Perreault, Gordie Howe, Guy LaFleur, Jarome Iginla, Jean Beliveau, Joe Sakic, Johnny Bucyk, Luc Robitaille, Marcel Dionne, Mario Lemieux, Mike Bossy, Mike Modano, Patrick Marleau, Sidney Crosby, Stan Mikita, Steve Yzerman, Wayne Gretzky

Steve Stamkos will be the 21st player to do this in a few weeks.

OT. But Marleau looks so out of place on this list.

No disrespect to Marleau, but he really does. But he played 1,607 games for the Sharks. Only one player in all of NHL history has played more games for a single franchise (Gordie Howe), so that certainly helps. (For what it's worth, I wouldn't vote for him to enter the HOF, but it's likely that he'll be inducted eventually).

I do need to remind some Lightning fans, that if they had their way just 3 years ago (some wanted Stamkos gone to open salary for younger/healthier replacement) that all of this awesome Stamkos high marks would have happened somewhere else, on a different team, like how St. Louis finished or Lecavalier. That would have ruined all of this Tampa good memories that we can now always have as a franchise and fans. All is forgiven though. 👍
