The Devils got here by being bad for ten years.

We ruined it by shooting our load on the rebuild and hitching our wagon to this mid ass lineup.

How bad does it look? I can't watch

No legs. No coordination. Focus on defensive side of things. The players look like they've been skating hard 3 hours a day. A step behind the Devils who are much better organized. We play ye olde dump and chase and the Devils know our every move from eons ago.

Lavi wanted to see different combos and it shows, both on offense and on d. This will take some time to sort out by the looks of it.

Not an encouraging result to say the least but to be honest not too surprising. When the opponent is always first on pucks and takes away all lanes with their skating it’s going to be hard to generate offense.

The Devils also have a 4OA who's pretty good, a 1OA who's pretty good but in the lower tier of 1OA's, and a 2OA who's just a guy. The only homerun was Hughes. They also have a number of busts.

It's almost like they stockpiled picks and had multiple kicks at the can.

Bratt is a 6th rounder and about to have a monster year. They struck gold there, yep

Chytil is clearly a missing factor in this one. He is one of the few on the team who can carry the puck and push the other team back on their heels

We’re not fast enough to process and beat the devils forecheck. They forecheck 2 players on the puck and last forward soft puck support which is overwhelming. Then they goes strong side high pressure with their defenseman and jump everything in the neutral zone. And backcheck like maniacs. It’s infuriating to watch because it’s hard to coach a way to beat that.

You can say what you want about the Rangers rushing a rebuild but if Laf Kakko Lisa Andersson and Krapsoft all live up to their draft status the narrative goes out the window and you get guys like Pierre McGuire gushing over how much youth the Rangers have and how they’re gonna be a force for a decade.
