1) Our capacity to score more than 1 goal/game.
2) Our PP.
3) Our defense: Heddy and Serge are not at the top right now. And they're not close to it.
4) Slow start for Vasy too.
5) ABB, Raddysh and Katchouk that have to create the right chemistry with their lines.
6) Perry and Bellemare, look at the 5th point.
7) Nikita Kucherov's injury.

Here we have all the problems of our team right now.
Should we hit the panic button?
Not now, it's early. But these problems are real and have to be solved.
Otherwise the panic button will be activated for real.

The major issue is we have no depth. If point or stamkos goes down we are toast. Even if we made the playoffs, we would need a miracle to stay healthy. This group never stays healthy and now we don't have any depth like the last 2 seasons.

Had to get away from the main board with Sabres fans saying Stamkos is dirty.

I thought they were joking, but they aren't. It's sad they can't be objective because they like one team.

Also the hilarity of someone calling the Lighting the "Dolts" instead of "Bolts" is the type of 3rd grade stuff I love to see.

With Kuch on the ice we can play with Stammer in the second line.
So, that line will be better and, for sure, the PP will be better too.
About the third and fourth line it's a "we'll see" situation.
i'm curious to know if the rookies have something to give.
If so, ok, otherwise I suppose there's still the trade deadline where JBB can make some adjustment.

yeah but Kucherov is out for maybe a long time, and we are not deep enough to coast into the playoffs without him this season.

If this team is playing like this still we might be sellers come TDL

We dominated almost the whole 2nd period, we make 1 mistake, and it all goes downhill. Goals have dried up and our team defense hasn't exactly compensated defensively. Mistakes are killing us.

Raddysh and Katchouk played their best games tonight. The first few games that 4th line was looking pretty dead. The rookies were bystanders. Something clicked though and it seems like they turned a corner. They played confident and worked hard. Gives me a little more confidence about their futures individually, and that this 4th line can actually contribute going forward.

Hopefully we won't have to see Elliott until the next back to back. The timing of that 1st goal was absolutely the last thing we needed to see. Immediately sets us back. Just give us a chance.

Bolts have to find a way to dig their way out of this. Nobody is going to help us. This league will kick you when you're down.

We'll see.
I really hope to know how long Kuch will be out.
I guess that if he'll stay out for the entire regular season, JBB will do something soon

Panthers get 2 points and remain unbeaten. Took advantage of the 0-5-1 Coyotes tonight.

Toronto lose again, 4-1 to Carolina.

Ok I went back to the main boards and am having some fun.

I guess when you have an awful team you grasp at an early regular season win like it means something.

Not even remotely worried about the Bolts as of now.

It's easy to focus on the lack of goals, but what's really killing us is the really stupid goals allowed. We won cups by getting good at the 2-1 games. Play smart and wait for the other team to make the mistake.

Vasilevski and Point are at the front of the list right now, can't have your 9.5m goalie with a .893 save % and your 9.5m center with 3 points on 6 games and expect to win games.

Missed the game to watch a movie, but it looks like I made the right choice. It's still early, but this team looks like they just don't care, at all. The move to keep a great defense in favor of offensive depth may be all well and good come late in the season and playoffs, but have to get there 1st. So far, the defense has also been trash(in addition to the goaltending), and for the first time in a while the team doesn't look to be able to win too many 5-4 or 6-5 type games. It's disappointing but not surprising that the team lacks any real passion at this point, as both b2b Cups, a short offseason(again), and a lack of drive , in addition to all the roster changes, are contributing to one of the worst starts I've seen from a Lightning group in quite awhile. I would say if by the 20 or max, 25 game mark, the team is still playing like this then some big moves should be considered. If not and Kuch comes back around game 35 or so and the team is well out, it could be 2017 all over again.

A lot of our puck movement looks like it is straight from practice sessions - nice entries, tic-tac-toe. But in the crunch we are not shooting or finishing well. Need more opportunism. D too is getting caught by making 'practice game' type errors.

I thought the effort was there and it wasn't that bad, apart from the important thing, the result.

Not worried at all, as I trust the team and coaching staff to work through it. This is not a team that will learn back and think "it will be fine", so I'm sure they are working on the details.

For me they are lacking sharpness both in the defense and offense, but it's something that can definitely be sorted out.

Still not convinced that the third line is such a difference maker during regular season, we were complaining that Coleman wasn't so good, Goodrow didn't produce enough points and Gourde was beyond bad two seasons ago. As said before, they definitely had a big impact during playoffs, but think our memories are lingering on that performance.

Gourde, Coleman and Goodrow were the heartbeat of this team. We are not nearly as bad as we are showing right now. But I have serious doubts about our ability to make a deep run given the absence of the third line, plus the wear and tear that we have endured over the past 18 months.
