Atkinson hasn't look great, but looks better than sheary . He cost less than half sheary's salary. Ideally love to find a taker for sheary for future considerations. Then we have more cap and could possibly add a top 6 forward or 3rd line center.

He has a full NTC until this summer. We are stuck with him.

Other than faceoffs, is there any reason to tinker with anything?
We have Glendening for faceoffs though. If Perbix and Lilleberg don't improve by the TDL I still think we need to add a 3LD and adding a player like Gourde to stack the middle 6 can't hurt.

Pre-season I made a prediction that if Atkinson got PP1 and 2nd line time he could score 20+ goals. Right now he is barely even seeing the ice, so that ain't happening.

Next three are away, no doubt we'll see 11-7 at some point in there, probably Monday or Tuesday at least.

Not a single player on the team has a negative +/-
To stay a bit even keeled, I think different teams wake up at different times of the season. So we might look a little better than we really are right now. The holes in the line up are still there.

But we are banking points while other good teams are struggling. That could be key later on.

They won't have to move Sheary to accomplish that near or at the deadline. With cap accrual again, Tampa should be able to utilize just under 2.9 million in cap space on deadline day, and close to that approaching it. With retention, Tampa could target a F making as much as 5.7 or so, giving them a lot of options to upgrade the middle 6 if needed (Gourde, Vatrano, Palmieri, Kuzmenko could be a few names).
