Tampa isn't a top team this year. They were bailed out by Vasy the whole game. Not better than Boston, not better than Toronto, not better than Washington or Carolina imo.

Best game of the season.

Staal should never see the ice again. Chytil looked great and should stay. Find some more wingers to avoid using Haley up front. All the centers looked great tonight.

Georgiev shows up again. Having him, Hank and Shesty coming soon, we're golden in nets.

I get the feeling that Chytil is going to be huge for this team.
Lindgren needs to stay up as well..

Staal is like the old man who kept the training wheels locked on, and now the lock has come off and the kids just took off

As bad as Sunday was, the season IS turning. The team is re-finding the Quinn attitude from last season, where there was very little quit and lots of strong efforts even though they didn’t win a lot. They had it against Buffalo. They had it tonight.

They’re not going to have it all the time, but some good signs.

Georgiev had a pretty good game. I wouldn’t say the end result of this game was due to fantastic defense.
it wasn’t but it was a lot better across the board. in volume of shots, chances, long shifts, and serious pressure

this still isn’t a good team but taking someone as bad as Staal out has very noticeable effects

Gotta give Haley #3 star. Georgiev easily #1, what a performance....hope this makes Hank pick up his game, we could have a great goaltending duo here for the next year or so with these 2. Scored 3 goals against the best goalie in the league without our best scorer, not bad, give Quinn some credit.
Georgiev was great tonight but Hank has been good this season too. The boxcar stats look pedestrian but there's some charts floating around showing how great he's been doing considering his workload and the quality of chances he's been facing. I believe he's 3rd in the league in GSAA.

Goaltending hasn't been an issue at all. Hank isn't 2012 Hank anymore but he's still good. They can for sure be a good tandem this year. The team played better tonight than they have all season. If they play close to this level every game, they're going to win a lot or at least get much more favorable results because their goalies are both good enough to put them over the top when the team plays structured and sound defensively.

Tonight actually looked like defensive zone structure has been practiced, nowhere near the amount of unchecked players, open passing lanes or lost battles in front or down low. Lots of good positioning, smart sticks and most importantly to me: smart pressure in the D zone. No standing around and watching. Players applied pressure at the perfect times as opposed to most of this season when they'd be standing and watching in the D zone and the other team could just do what they want and we were always a step behind.

Very impressed with the effort all around. Now I'd like to see them carry this effort forward and play with this kind of structure going forward. Losing is one thing but if they lose while looking how they did tonight then it is more palatable. Losing while getting outshot 45-20 and looking like pee wees out there is so disheartening.
