For many of us he was never a hero. Just a big bungling clod that played over his head from time to time. The effort is usually there; the execution rarely. Torts has protected this guy long enough as did Pruster. With #8 gone he is being exposed for the AHL player that he is. Get used to it.

Wow, you truly have no clue what you're talking about. Have you ever watched an AHL game?

Strictly based on this year, Callahan has been closer to an AHL player than Boyle.

Boyle and Asham are fine while on 4th line duty. The thing with Boyle that is making me go mental are the forecheck giveaways.

He enters the zone, keeps the puck well, fights off a ***** or two, then giveaway ... it is always the same pattern. Enter zone, battle, giveaway.

Asham is just old the way I see it. Well we have to stick with them anyhow, let's make the best out of it. But the Boyle hate is exagerated ... to say the least.

With JT, Kreider and Callahan back in the lineup we should get going soon again. Best would be tonight!

Let's rock them Fishsticks! Let's go Rangers!!!

Yes, his offense sucks and yes he needs to go back to the non stop checking he had of last year but to diminish his worth as nothing more than some scrub AHL player is ridiculous.

The only scrub player who has no real worth on the team is Stu. Everyone else, even Asham, can display some useful skill that has a place on this team.

I agree because to be benched you have to be playing and Boyle should never have been playing. Richards has been very lazy and although he is picking up points, there is no consistency. Halpern > Boyle. All we need to know now that we have other forward options.

Boyle is an NHL player. He should be playing like Halpern minutes, 4th line and PK. I see no issue with him being a player on a good nhl team. I feel that he could be greater used as a winger with his size on the forecheck. Take face off move to wing after the puck drops.

Ah, but you kids aren't using New York Rangers logic. If all signs point towards a weak defense and a blowout game, they'll muster a whopping 1 goal off an ass deflection from some Islander blue liner forgetting where he is and probably his own name too.

Tbh I can see this happening. It's been a while since the Rangers last blewout another team. Not to mention that Islanders' blueline is pretty terrible, it needs to be exploited.

watch that blueline look like an NHL allstar defense.. Rangers better not take them lightly or that is what will happen.. LETS GO RANGERS

Come on guys. The Rangers trademark is making scrub goalies look good not scrub defensemen :D.

too bad the Islanders dont have Dylan Reese on their blueline anymore...you know he would score at least 2 goals tonight....

Balls to the wall from the start..

No excuses..

Score at least one more than them..

Bold prediction time;

We win 6-3 in a game known for goals against ourselves game..

We score once in our own net and they put 2 in theire own goal...

I think Boyle and Stepan need some time with Jacoba Brink

Honestly, now that I have thought of it more, I approve Boyles sitting.

Absolutely. He is - and I apologize - dumb as a mother****er.

Mentally slow ... again this is just about his hockey and maybe general IQ. Brain Boyle the dude is surely a funny guy to have around. Prust loved him ... watch the 24/7 tapes. They were roommates. And while Prust was getting up easily/professionally, Boyle was this morning lazy guy

Again no offense. ^^

Anyhow, this is a new team today. And I am very much looking forward to it.

Greetings from John Mitchell in Colorado after blocking a shot with his face.

I don't think Boyle is a bad player, an AHL player, or trade fodder.

But right now, he is not playing as well as he needs to in order to be in this lineup.

We know Torts. He's going to put out the twelve forwards he thinks is going to give them the best chance to win. Miller came out and earned his second game. Halpern earned his spot. Kreider earned his spot. Cally is coming back, and is the 4th best forward on the team, so you know he's playing. Boyle hasn't looked engaged. Hopefully this wakes him up.

Honestly, I'm in shock at how this lineup looks. It looks GOOD. A lot depends on the play of a 19 year old in his 2nd NHL game, but if his first game is any indicator, it's a good thing.

I'm excited to see these 4 lines.
