Doesn't help having a winger playing center because the team is decimated with injuries.

Also Shultz.

Lol, Stars outshoot the Avs 42-15, lose 3-1. Stars had something like 90+ shot attempts and the Avs had 30+ blocked shots.

Still he has better players. Especially in a game like that. Well at least Flynn was close, unlike Galchenyuk.

Shootouts are a breed apart.

Your best players and your best shootouts players are often two different tribes.

After tonight game, here are the career numbers for Canadiens with 5+ attempts:

Flynn 57.1 (4/7)
Desharnais 42.5 (17/40)
Eller 40.0 (6/15)
Markov 35.7 (5/14)
Pacioretty 31.8 (7/22)
Galchenyuk 30.8 (8/26)
Gallagher 22.2 (2/9)
Plekanec 13.3 (4/30)
Fleischmann 12.5 (2/16)

For Pittsburgh, Bonino is their best at 42.9 (9/21). Kessel is at 26.8 (15/56).

Stamkos is at 20.6 (7/34).

Tavares is at 27.7 (13/47).

As I wrote, a little fact checking would not hurt... :D

Most shot attempts in a 60 minute game in this era of tracking shot attempts (post 2004-05 lockout).

Edit: second most shot attempts in regulation, but I believe that it is the most shot attempts in a game that didn't go to overtime.

We had absolutely zero business in this game, but Varlamov didn't let in a stinker keeping momentum on Colorado's side and Avs do a really good job at exposing Stars goaltending. Avs could have had at least two more goals considering how good of a chances Soderberg had in the 1st and Tanguay in the 2nd.

Yeah that two-handed slash to the wrist was okay though because it was on a King.

Good on Looch to hold that turd accountable, turtled when he had to face the music

Funny when the same slash happened to Perry last week it was him being a wimp. Now slashes to wrists are dangerous.

He was stick checking Toffoli and fell over into the side of the net, Lucic popped him in the back/side of the head essentially as he stood up and regained his balance. That was the very definition of a sucker punch.

Just square him up and kick his ass, that was stupid.

Coyotes with the solid closeout.
