Ha! Got you guys talking about Larose. I seriously didn't intend to imply that they were the EXACT same player. I just mean that in terms of role and perhaps getting more minutes than they probably should. I also think that Larose isn't getting a lot of credit for his speed and puck skills. They weren't as strong as Gerbe's, but they weren't total crap either. But in terms of tangible production in the goals and assists column, they're in the same general area. I'm not a fan of advanced stats pulled from totally different teams and applied to current players. Just making a casual observation about how Gerbe became Buffalo's Chad Larose and got bought out. Injury had a lot to do with that too.
I am a fan of the kid. When he came over I was happy. I'm still happy with him. I just caution against the assumption that he's even teetering on the edge of being a good second line player. In an ideal world, he'd be part of a really strong 3rd line instead of the role he has been forced into by necessity here.
