Impressive season for the Leafs so far, they’re definitely the team to beat in the division. And all that with Matthews missing a good chunk of the season so far.

Let’s bring our A game!

Leafs were down 3-0 to the Habs the other night and then came back and scored 6 straight goals (7 with the empty netter) to win. Bolts have had their own issues themselves putting this team away in recent years

Lets see if Vasy gets lit up again against these guys. At some point you'd expect the tide to turn. Has he had a good game against these guys after that atrocious playoff series?

Don't be shocked if this turns into a game of dueling Cooper shells. The Leafs have picked it up under Berube.

Eh, I would've still started Vasy against the team that Tampa is trying to catch in the standings. Sure, he's had a couple of rough starts against them this season, but he has been playing better lately and he is still the #1. He also needs to have a good game against Toronto to get over any mental blocks there may be against them imo. Despite JJ's last handful of better starts, I'd still trust Vasy more against the higher quality opponents.

Yeah, it's kinda crazy to me if we're sheltering former Vezina Vasy from the Leafs? Is he back to peak form or not? Playing him tonight and let's see. This also seems like a great way to crush what confidence JJ has developed.

If the goal is to get at least two points out of the next two road games this decision makes sense though: Play the stronger goalie against the weaker opponent to “secure” two points and go with the backup in the game where chances of a win are 50:50 at the very best - and even with your #1 goaltender.

Vasi might steal the game in Montreal even when the team is tired. Those chances don’t increase when you play the inferior goalie instead.

Since it’s a B2B I’m fine with JJ tonight and Vas tomorrow.

Might be waiting for a home game.

Honestly I'm interested to see how Vasy responds. Gotta think he wants the game tonight.

We're in a playoff fight against Montreal so that's the more important game to have Vasy.

Might as well try something different. If we get blown out anyway, oh well. Maybe it'll get the boys thinking more about how to shut Toronto down because we've played them too wide open before.
