Oh look, another optimistic post from the fake Lightning fan. I'm sure we're all very surprised on here by your usual plethora of positivity...
You're right, I need to be more optimistic after today's impressive win.Sure, Montreal and Detroit are on a 10-0 streak each, and they beat Toronto pretty much never, but that's no reason to be pessimistic.

There is nothing wrong with pessimism, but what you are doing is called catastrophizing.

You don't need others validation, you have value for just being you. I sincerely hope that you overcome whatever obstacles you are facing right now. Vent away.

You and Byrd should have a rousing get together; it can be like an echo chamber of how bad the Lightning are. It doesn't really matter how they play or who they beat, as people like yourself find a reason to whine and complain.

It's called realism. The team looks terrible, in the last 10 games there was maybe 1 game when they looked decent - against Carolina. You don't agree?
It's almost like there are slumps in a season, we have the same record as Florida in the last 10, a team that you're confident will beat us.

We've had an absolute gauntlet to start the year, I'm sure that once things slow down a bit and we get healthier we'll look like the lightning team from the rest of the year.

Do you also think that they will both catch us and we will be 5th in the Atlantic?
History has shown that Detroit will eventually run out of steam. Montreal is in the same boat. They are going to be tough games, but winning against at least one of them is a must.

It also feels like every teams goaltender turns into Jesus reincarnated when they play us.

Glad you all have noticed the same. It really doesn't matter who we play, how great we play, how we win or lose, nothing is good enough for this dude. Even a PPG Kucherov isn't good enough for him.

I seriously doubt the twinkie behind that username is a Lightning fan.

I'm just not sure if you're weighing it against the rest of the league. All top teams go through woes. We are managing to get points even when we don't look good, and on some nights, usually against better teams, we look great.

It all comes out to the wash. If it's either "we suck" or "we are clearly the best team in the league," then yeah, we suck. But that isn't the actual question. We are somewhere in the top 8 or so teams (1/4 of the league), going through the same ups and downs as all the other good teams.

Outside of a couple stretches this year, we're definitely looking like a top 7 or 8 team in the league based on metrics. But some of those close games that we were tied or even led in the latter half resulted in 0 points (ex: St Louis road, Minnesota 2x, Washington, Winnipeg road, Los Angeles) making us look more like a 10th to 15th place team in the league.

We've graded out much better at 5v5 than previous years. We're just not getting as many clutch goals when we need them as we have in the past.

We got goalied again. I am genuinely starting to wonder how much of this is genuinely terrible luck versus skill issues. Everyone we face might as well be prime Dom Hasek anymore

We could have easily had 6 goals or more
I feel like we get goalied alot. Tendy's like to bring their A game against our top guys for sure. But it always feels like bad luck with the amount of goalies standing on their heads against us as of late

Doesnt help half our team can't hit the net!

We lead the league with 3.63 goals per game, it’s just your imagination that we are getting goalied more than most teams.

Like every goalie that played against us are having they game of life. After loss against ANA when we got goalied, I told to myself that their goalies will never play as good as it was against us, and I was right 5 L in 6 games I guess they had...until they came back to us and Dostal had a game of his life xD

It's reached the point of craziness hasn't it?
