Had a chance with the late PP and throw it right in the trash. There is no sane reason to start with an empty net there. And no, the numbers do not support these goalie pulls that coaching has made, just f***ing atrocious when you actually have a golden chance to sneak back into it late.

It felt like we helped the Bruins at every turn. First from Pointer missing his meeting, then from Hedman's blunder, some dumb penalties, and lastly Coop's goalie pulls. The game last week was pretty close, so it give them some freebies really hurt us.

On a positive note I thought Geekie looked rejuvenated. Created some turnovers, got physically involved, looked confident. And Finley, not too shabby for a guy who didn't even get to practice with the team earlier today. There were fights, and big hits, and all that carryover from the last game against Boston, you're on the road in a hostile building, etc, but it didn't seem too big for him.

Fun game in the final 40. Fell behind the 8 ball and couldn't recover. Hats off to Lilleberg, just wish they could've rallied around that a bit better in the 3rd. Happy for Finley. Hedman, Vasilevskiy and Kucherov were subpar, then Point with his situation...not a recipe for a win. Massive fail as usual on pulling the goalie.

Still think it was an important game in a few ways. The group didn't put the tail between its legs when things got heated, but at the same time it showed how truly unequipped this team is with the way it's built. It's only going to get tougher, and Boston is not that good while icing a heavily depleted roster. Not even the players fault, JBB needs to look in the mirror. The only player who consistently steps up and deals with it is a rookie who has never even experienced it before. Could you imagine how painfully soft this team would be without Lilleberg? I liked Cernak stepping up to Zadorov and Raddysh throwing a massive hit, but I saw a lot guys not even making eye contact out there tonight.

There's no shortage of heart but BriseBois needs to wake his ass up, this is a group that can be roughed up, bullied and intimidated plain and simple. There comes a point where pride isn't enough, you need the personnel. Sickening to see on an otherwise great roster compared with how it has been for a decade+ prior.

Couldn’t watch the game. Outshot the B’s. No Point, and personally. I have NO problem with the penalty, unless he was in the DR’s chair. Not Vasy’s best game, by any means. Home game, and B’s came out to prevail.

Yup. Cernak and Lille are not the answer for getting roughed up at every opportunity.

Would love to see us get Mathieu Olivier. Girgensons is a warm body and nothing else. 0 offensive instinct. Glendening can be useful, but the 4th is a dumpster fire. No offense is expected there. If we could somehow swing a reunion with Gourde, you'd have an absolute gem of a shutdown line with him, Hagel and Cirelli. Paul, Geekie and either Ace/Olivier.

Something has to give at the TDL, that's for damn sure.

Apparently the meeting Pointer missed was on how to not attack the puck carrier and how to defend nobody on a 2-1.

If you don't want to be depressed dont look at the deserve-to-win-o-meter for this one.

Team lacks "glue guys". People can talk all the smack they want about how the ones we had are no good but we have slowly gotten rid of them year after year and it doesn't feel like the void has been filled from within. It's not like Maroon and Perry were beating anyone up but they galvanized the team and dragged guys into the fight. Then you have the Bogosians, Schenns, etc. Just some character, experience and grit around the edges. It's tough for some folks to comprehend but it's clear as day something is missing here, and it ain't skill. Especially in a season where you say goodbye to the captain and most iconic player in franchise history.

Some truly awful defending on those Boston goals, Vasy with a softie and that was that.

I know it doesn't matter but why pull Vasy after the first empty net goal? Every time I hear that goal horn and goal song my blood pressure goes up.

I hope JBB has a plan to add a forward with a bite at the TDL at the very latest.

As far as Cooper: it feels like his goalie-pulling stunts deflate the team more often than not, wonder what the statistics are.

Tell me with a straight face we can beat anyone unless our defensive game plan is absolutely perfect. Like nothing goes wrong all night. The way we play leaves absolutely no margin for error. We are built to score twice at best per night and coached like it
Built to score two a night? We’re the 3rd highest scoring team in the league lol.

Goals for per game anyway. But if we're gonna go down that road, that says more about how like 25% of that total came in 5 nights out of 42 with 3 snowmen and some 6's. Anyone who thinks "lots of goals" is our identity is fooling themselves. "The perfect night is scoring twice with 1 goal against and about 45 minutes without the puck" is our identity and I've got easily 100+ games to prove it. We just have talent to score a bazillion times

Wait you're not actually claiming that JJ doesn't let softies in are you

Hes bad, hes been bad, hes just cheap and willing to be here.
His last bad game was against Сolumbus. I dont think he has had a bad game since then, but there were a couple where he was the best player on the ice.
So I don't see any reason not to give him more starts until he starts sucking like he did at the start of the season. Especially when the starting goalie is allowing 4 goals on 9 shots. If JJ did that you guys would go crazy.

Bruins fan here.

Credit to Lilleberg for taking Frederic up on the fight. I said last night in another thread that it would be greatly appreciated by his teammates because if he denied the fight, it could have potentially gotten uglier. Lilleberg is only going to get better once he gets more experience. He's a strong kid.

Zero problem with the Raddysh hit as well. Unfortunate outcome, but overall, zero issue with the hit. There's really nothing Raddysh could have done to avoid that and I think the refs got it right upon review.

I like that Eyssimont kid. He's got some shit bag in him which I always appreciate.

Anyways, it seems Boston has a bigger rivalry with the Florida teams than they do with the Leafs and Habs these days. I get far more excited for games against you guys because the temperature is always high and that's something that's missing in todays NHL.

Its hard to win games with tough opponents with backup goalie

Lilleberg...what a warrior missed few punches in face and head, and still stood on his legs even though it was tough fight for him and at the end he was gassed, he just kept pushing, standing and never gave up..warrior.

We need someone tough and someone at 3rd line to finnaly score
