They can definitely add two forwards at the deadline. It makes adding on defense little trickier, but with retention and Tampa sending a little salary back in at least one trade, it is possible to add up to 3 players at the deadline. They may not get any of the absolute highest priced guys, but there are many options out there that could improve the middle 6 that are in Tampa's range.

There comes a point where a change and spark is needed. Sullivan is a good coach but you can't have a team so soft and heartless year after year. Is it "his fault"? Perhaps not. But the poster you quoted is being pretty fair imo, Pens need a massive change. This started before Dubas arrived.

You've missed the point and perhaps you missed the word "were" in my previous post. Dubas IS a joke. Hextall WAS and so WAS Burke.

If Pittsburgh wants to try for a new coach bump Sullivan would probably welcome getting the gate deep down. He knows he has a shit team. And he wouldn't be unemployed for long. But if you think the old "the boys just need play tougher and harder " nonsense is going to change the fortunes of that lineup, guess again. To get a regulation win despite the ugly first period when everyone was asleep is nice, a good team can get ugly wins! Despite the low number of shots we had some quality chances in the second and third. Against a better team than the Pens that first period would have been punished harder though.

Even if he could done better at the first goal, JJ made some good saves, he is definitely playing better now than earlier in the season!

I'm just remembering back in the off-season when the heards couldn't put together how this team was improved offensively and defensively.

They're the top scoring team in the league and top-10 defensively We still have moves available to get even better too.

When it will actually matter is the post season. That is unless you'd feel great another first round exit to go with those top 10 regular season stats.

He didn't have a shit team many years and had no success. He's Mike Tomlin in a Penguins jersey. It'll be seven seasons without a playoff win and three without qualification.
