McDonagh and Stepan are both a stride away from star status, hopefully they can continue to grow.

NYR don't need, and won't be getting 1st overall picks. Its not the NFL where you can get a top QB and build your whole team around him. Good drafting trumps good picks, otherwise the Panthers would be really good right now.

While it's a possibility, I cannot fathom how anybody can predict that Lundqvist will be a 'disaster'. It goes against all logic.

Eh, he didn't look good in the preseason...at least partly because he was playing even deeper than normal and not even vaguely trying to challenge shooters, but he's done this before in the preseason and then started the season out strong.

I would suggest that playing at a Vezina-caliber level for eight years should assuage any concerns lingering from a poor preseason. If anybody comes to play tonight, my money would be on Henrik.
 
Hello guys, I'm back from a long summer vacation ready for a new season :)

BUT...looking at this lineup I see Pyatt, Boyle and a bunch of kids. Is this really a winning team? I got a feeling Lundqvist will have his hands full, hopefully I'm wrong.

It is also a lineup which does not include Cally or Hags.

Might be gut random feeling, but I have a bad feeling that he will underperform tonight. Logic doesn't have a place in my predictions. It's for gamblers. Must og to bed now, but will be happily surprised if I wake up with Hank in the 90s. Moore will get a star though.

I have to be awake at 6am... I already know I'm probably going to pass out during the second period, but I'm gonna do my best to make it through the game!

True enough, always some damn injuries.

A lot of people on these boards promised Pyatt would be gone. He's still around, and has been promoted. And the Kreider lovers who said he's top notch must be disappointed, he isn't even in the lineup :laugh:
 
Shows you how much preseason means. All ive heard is how Schneider gave up only 1 goal in preseason and so far he's given up 2 in 10 minutes. Preseason is meaningless.

HAHAH, the great Cory....

The preseason game I went to i was stuck behind this 40 year old mother and her daughter, and they kept chanting for him by First name... it was the most aggravating thing I have ever heard, considering he was going against rangers terciary players
