Stepan could not shave from today until the SCF and he would still not match up to the even decent beards in the league.

I think Nash could have some potential.

Ugh so frustrated. Idiots and DirecTV consider me to live in a Phoenix market even though I live 8.5 hours away, therefore the game is blacked out. So dumb.

I guess streaming it is tonight... LGR!!!
 
Trying very hard to be excited but this is the downest Ive been for an opener in....probably ever. Being angry/bipolar is one thing, but Im becoming legtimately cynical with this team.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I really like the way they Rangers exit their zone and enter the opposition's under AV, a lot more emphasis on puck control which I like.

However, I don't think AV has figured out how to set his lineup yet. Especially the defence. So that curbs some of my optimism. He has basically reverted to the setup that Torts figured out didn't actually work that well.

Predictions for tonight:

If we lose, I'm going to call out half the team in the GDT as useless plodders.

Then I'm going to piss everyone off in the PGT by stating "it's alright really, our FenClose was really good!" and explain away Strålman's -2 by "bad luck" and how its all Girardi's fault, somehow.

If we win it is going to be a combination of "I told you so"s that leave a bad aftertaste, and lofty predictions of the future with "just wait until Hagelin comes back, then we'll really take off!"-comments.

Lundqvist is a superstar, Stepan could become one. I don't see the problem here.

Hell, Stepan is a safer bet to become a star than MacKinnon at this point. MacKinnon may have a higher ceiling, but Stepan just has to improve a smidgen from last season and keep that level up to be a star in this league.
