You mean if we ignore McDavid, lol? Off the top my head I'd say Lemieux and Jagr in 1995-96 were the last to do it before CM.Draisaitl could get 60 plus goals and 130 plus points in the same season. How far back do you have to go to find someone who did this ?
This has been the pattern for him in the last 4 years. One amazing year followed by a down year.Matthews only has 20 goals so far, looks like a down year for him.

Would love to see him hit 60 this year. The Rocket and Hart goes to the best player in the league, Leon Draisaitl!
Weird year goal scoring wise, when was the last time someone scored 60 but no one else hit 50 in one year?Would love to see him hit 60 this year.
Leon Draisatl is wasted on this dumpster fire of a franchise.
lol he isnt even ahead of Matthews, which was literally last season. We get it, you want this to be legendary, but hes simply having a good season only, nothing spectacular.Relative to his peers, Draisaitl might be having one of the greatest goal scoring seasons ever...
Matthews plays on a better team than Draisatl.lol he isnt even ahead of Matthews, which was literally last season. We get it, you want this to be legendary, but hes simply having a good season only, nothing spectacular.
Recent rocket winners
Ovechkin - .63 gpg
Ovechkin - .71 gpg
Matthews - .78 gpg
Matthews - .82 gpg
McDavid - .78 gpg
Matthews - .86 gpg
Draisaitl - .74 gpg
That statement alone can be argued 7 different ways to Sunday in both directions.Matthews plays on a better team than Draisatl.
Maybe, but the Leafs have a better crop of forwards, D, and goaltenders than the Oilers do.That statement alone can be argued 7 different ways to Sunday in both directions.

While he's having a phenomenal season (0.75 GPG), I'd argue this is in part due to Kaprizov (0.65 GPG) and Ovechkin (0.70 GPG) both missing 15+ games. Throw in a down year by Matthews (who has also missed a good number of games) and you have a weak field, if you're judging only by raw totals....he did say "RELATIVE TO HIS PEERS"...if he laps the field by 15+, it's a major accomplishment...
Mega accomplishment for sure, but when he doesn't even surpass the previous years rocket winners goal totals, trying to argue that this is one of the best goal scoring season ever is a weird take....he did say "RELATIVE TO HIS PEERS"...if he laps the field by 15+, it's a major accomplishment...
The Oilers are also dogshit this year so....While he's having a phenomenal season (0.75 GPG), I'd argue this is in part due to Kaprizov (0.65 GPG) and Ovechkin (0.70 GPG) both missing 15+ games. Throw in a down year by Matthews and you have a weak field, if you're judging only by raw totals.
Yes, but that doesn't make it one of the greatest goal scoring seasons in history. He's only 3 goals ahead of a 39 year old Ovechkin's pace. The Oilers are also dogshit this year so....
You're crashing out brother. Relax. The Oilers are also dogshit this year so....
You're right, everything is fine. Plan the parade. You're crashing out brother. Relax.
