True. There was a point at which you could see it was really weighing on some of the guys in particular, mentally. But just sticking with "the process", it was unlikely they would keep having things go awry quickly, at the worst moments, for the rest of the year.


I really think Boudreau deserves a lot of credit for the way he handled that spiraling situation. He could've fed into and made it all a lot worse. But he handled it well. Understood that complaining about it an moping and pointing out what went wrong wasn't going to help. Everyone understood. It was just a matter of working out of the funk.

Underrated component of the loss streak was Hughes being injured and then out of the games. He's not perfect but boy does he tilt the ice, particularly compared to what it looks like when he's out.
