Are you saying you wouldn't accept 13 + 66 for Zegras?
or that you wouldn't accept a low 1st + high 2nd which you were replying to?

From an outsiders POV, 13+ seems too high a price where as a low 1st+ seems too low. Im just curious what your perspective is.
My perspective is not trading him until after a coach change… and see if production goes back to normal after that.

But even beyond that I’m happy with zegras game….. and hope we keep them around

I certainly would not. Any offensively talented forward would have to go through what Zegras has under our current coach. There aren’t many guys at that level around at 13 in most drafts, let alone a rather shallow one. It also would push our timeline needlessly further down the road, which doesn’t seem like something Verbeek is interesting in.

What about something for Zegras where Josh Norris is a centerpiece from the Sens?

Norris highlights:
- 25yrs old, 6ft2, 196lbs, USA born
- Responsible 2-way centerman
- Great shot/release (goal scorer)
- Great skater

Lowlights:
- Shoulder concerns (so far so good this year though)
- More of a great complimentary piece than a line driver
- Overpaid (7.950 cap hit until 2030) for a 2C

I don't really see it. What you're describing is essentially a slightly bigger Z (if the coach would ever #$@^*@!!! play him where he's strongest) but more expensive for a long time. With most of the good young players the Ducks have needing new contracts in the next year or three, Josh's salary I think would be the team's highest & could skew things in a direction that PV really doesn't want to go (with the cap going way up that's probably going to be an appropriate salary for a 2C in a few years ... but not right now).

--- (looks up his stats) --- uh, he's not really 'that' different of a goal scorer/point generator. He's 89/65/154 compared to Z's 62/108/170 (with Z having one less year in the league but 10 more games played total). I'd rather keep Z & trust he can get back to the 60 point player that he was his first two years (something Josh has never hit - best year 55 points & usually around 30) with being used the way he plays best at (& staying healthy, something that both of them seem to have problems with).

Plus with Carlsson & MacTavish (& Z used correctly) there's really no pressing 'need' for another Center who is roughly as good as they are currently but paid a LOT more.

How are your D needs? Anaheim has several good looking up & comers that could probably be spared (+ picks) if you really want to move on from him. Otherwise thanks but no thanks.
