Zary headshot on Elias Pettersson (the other one)

  • HFBoards is doing server maintenance Thursday March 13th at 9 AM GMT 5 AM EDT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.

Clear headshot on an unsuspecting player with intent to injure as it was no where near the play. Of the leagues serious about eliminating headshots, especially completely unnecessary ones like this, this should be 20+ games. However this league never would do that. They think 1-2 games is enough if you’re not a repeat offender, 3-5 if you are as long as you don’t jeopardize a career or life

3 games minimum, it’s an automatic.

Dirty play, away from the puck, intent to injure, elbow to the head, Canadian team, blind side, elevates himself and results to an injury.

Clear elbow to head and there was intent. First time a message is always sent by the nhl. A few places are saying he wont be suspened
I mean I won’t be surprised with 0 games and won’t be surprised with 3 either.

My comment was just more tongue in cheek because it doesn’t seem you like Zary to begin with

As blatant and text book dirty hit as it gets. Premeditated, blindside, elbow/forearm to the head away from the play.

3-5 games.

I'm usually pretty lenient about these things, but there is literally no excuse for that in any scenario. Not a hockey play. Clear intent to target the head. If the Zegras hit was 3 games (and I understand why it was though I thought it should be 1-2), then this has to be at least that and probably more.

Upon watching/thinking on it more... my expectations are so low that even a 1 game suspension feels like an underwhelming yet positive result.

Realistically this should be taken way more seriously. I like Zary alot as a player & I'm not trying make him into a massive villian, but this one play isn't much better than what Matt Cooke used to do, and he ended Savard's career with this kind of a thing.

How long will it take for the league to treat these things properly? It probably should be 3-5 games. What Zary is responding too is literally the kind of clean hit that all fans love to see, the league promotes, and all the players respect. Kadri's a great veteran, I doubt he has any ill-will taking that hit.

Just drop the gloves or alteast shove him around, no need for that kind of blatant cheapshot.
