As the game went on... the Defense has played much better:

We stopped giving away free looks at 6 feet out.
We stopped giving up breakaways and easy shots.
We actually had a Defender in our crease.

Our Forwards need to be able to make a first pass though. We still miss a lot of them.

We were the hungrier team all period, but we don't know how to score. We're missing a guy like Hornqvist tonight. Also, it's really sad to see Geno playing like this. His timing has looked really bad - passing into skates, can't corral pucks, lots of giveaways, doesn't have a shot mentality in the offensive zone, losing puck battles, losing faceoffs, ugh....

Wait till the next PK, though.

Why in Gods name is Zucker still stitched to Malkin?

It doesnt work, hasnt worked and will not work.

1. They're not breaking up the top line
2. Zucker-Malkin-Kapanen has been very good on the whole
3. If you take Zucker off that line, the alternative is putting ZAR on it
4. Malkin is the problem on that line, not Zucker

Was DeSMYTHE to blame on either goal? Just curious, not able to watch. Am wanting to have confidence in the goaltending.

Rotating lines might help elevate his game to get him out of this funk

Rotate him for what, though? They're not breaking up the top line because the top line has been great.

It's not Sullivan's job to make decisions on the roster based around Geno playing like crap. Malkin has 2 great wingers, he needs to make it work.

First one was 50/50 him and Marino. They both could have played it better
