Thank the heavens Skinner is ok. Imagine the horror if the Oilers were forced to trade for a real goalie!

Not good Edmonton...I remember when Lucic ran over Ryan Miller giving him a concussion...There was no retribution....That was in 2011...That sent the Buffalo organization into a downfall that is still here to this day...Approaching 14 years with no playoffs in the B-lo.
except Edmonton didn't lose the game 6-2 but won 4-0 and Skinner came back to finish the game and looked doing it, unlike Miller who didn't came back, also our backup when he came in for the concussion protocol didn't let in 3 goals like Enroth did. So yeah, not much similarities there.

Everything Kulak does in the video has nothing to do with good defending and everything to do with making things worse. I lolled.

Also good call.

Pretty clear he was trying to score. I don’t really value Zadorov much as a player either. Good bottom pairing d man at best.

He was, but that paint is blue for a reason.

I was out for 12 months with a major concussion after a similar play. In my case I went into butterfly as I am supposed to do to make that save and caught the guy's knee to the head as he strides directly through the crease. Just like Zadorov.

The goalie's completely vulnerable there but needs to put himself at risk to make the save... if it isn't a head, it can be a blown knee, or groin, or the attacker blows an edge and then it's a skate to the jugular, inner thigh (had that happen too, close to femoral), whatever. That's when shit happens.

Guys have to have some common sense, and Zadorov lacks that.

Just because a guy is trying to score, doesn't mean it was a legit hockey play... again, that's why that paint is blue.... so that the GOALIE can be protected to make a legit hockey play. Zadorov's legit hockey play there is cutting in earlier outside the blue, or going around back for a wrap.

Genuine question for Bruins fans:

What were the fans in the arena booing so loud about? Zadorov, for running Skinner? Skinner for getting run? The refs because it was a penalty?

I can't think of a scenario that makes sense unless the fans hate Zadorov

I was there, 10 rows back of the glass in the corner where he was driving the net.

There wasn't a consensus around me... everyone had their own excuse: he was pushed in, dive, shook his own helmet off, didn't even touch him, outside the blue paint, etc...

Bruins fans (and I am one most nights here, I lived for 4 years across from the Garden on Canal Street) are too cute. By far the most biased hometown fans in any rink I've spent time in (which includes Tor, Van, Ott & Montreal).

I think it's probably because home fans are fired up and you typically don't get a replay in arena/stadium as quick as you do sitting at home. Full speed it's hard to tell what happened. I've definitely been there where you boo a call and then you catch a replay and you're like "aw sh** that was a good call".

This can be true too... but there was a replay, they just booed louder lol.

Yup, if you’re seeing anything other than a dude trying to score you’re out to lunch. He’s somehow gotten around the edge, head down- dude lost track of where he was. Z is arguably dumb, never seen him as malicious.

Absolutely different circumstances, because this ain’t a runnin, just a dumb mistake.

Agree with this, but it's not just dumb, it's super careless... as an attacker, you gotta make the call... it's not rocket science, either you have an angle across the top of the crease in the white, or you don't. Zadorov wasn't anywhere near being close enough to cut white paint... straight through the blue and there was never any doubt about it.

That's more than just "dumb" in my opinion... it's a belligerent disregard of the rules and player safety. And yeah, Zadorov is a guy who doesn't think the rules should apply to him. Definitely a "gamer" in that regard... agree with the fans who say someone on the Oilers should have caved his face in.

J Brown, Nurse... where the heck were they? I heard (but did not notice) that Brown later had a long conversation with him... but to me this isn't one where a "conversation" is had, code says you drop the gloves and ask Zadorov if he wants to go after.

They probably jokingly doubled down im guessing, while knowing it was the right call

That was my sense too... my B's fan buddy continued to give me the gears until I realized he was trying to rile me up, so I just laughed and drank my beer.
