Very cool to see him healthy and dominating. It’s bonkers to me that he’s still going to be only 27 years-old for the entire season (not 28 until next July). Seems like he’s been around forever.

He’s really just coming into his prime and has always had massive tools. If he’s stays healthy he should be a “no doubt top 10” defenseman in the league for the next 5 years and clearly has the ability to perhaps grow into a guy considered at or near the top 5 in the entire league much like Josh Morrissey has evolved into. (Clearly, Werenski is having a “top 5” defenseman season this year, I’m talking more from a reputation standpoint).

That's my line of thinking. Remember we have dealt with a complete Front office/staffing turnover, we were mocked all last year with player issues, the locker room was dead, we just lost our star player who proved that yes great players are willing to come to Columbus willingly, the death of Kivi still hanging over some members of our team and we were supposed to be dead last with under 70 points. Even right now odds makers still give us less than a 1% chance and Moneypuck legit had to put out an errata saying we only had a 0.3% chance to make the playoffs instead of a 0.00% to protect themselves.
