That's just awful thinking, let's give away assets. You're hate for a player is blinding your logic.

I don't consider him to be an asset.

Guys like him get waived all the time. Just wait a bit and grab a replacement.

To me he's just a younger, defense version of Talbot.

That's actually Kevan Miller.

Miller and Trotman are comparable and if everyone is healthy, I'd keep both in the press box. I'd just dress Miller over Trotman if someone got hurt, because at least Miller is tough.

Tough as in punch people in the face because he has that over Trotman. If you mean hitting they both hit and block shots at the same rate except Trotman moves better and doesn't back in off shooters giving them free shots on net while screening his own goalie. I also haven't seen Trotman on all four pretending to be a crab instead of a defeseman.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, as I've yet to see Trotman do anything Miller can't do. Neither are great defensively, neither can pass, neither can shoot with any accuracy. Both try to take the body but Miller is a better fighter.

Trotman is worse with the puck on his stick and as bad as Miller has been. his decision making and positioning are still better than Trotman's.

You forgot to add "in my opinion", which for some reason in this case is noticeably biased? We have seen Trotman for only 3 games this season and Miller for 14, so I would say that your definitive analysis lacks subject matter.

If you want to go back and include last year, I thought Trotman looked a helluva lot better with Chara than KM has this season :dunno:

Personally, I thought Trotman was terrible last season, which is where I formed my opinion of him. Not much better this year either. As bad as Irwin was in his couple of games, Trotman wasn't much better.

My main issue is this: I don't see his upside being anything more than a 6/7, depending on the team. He is not better than Morrow, who, for some reason finds his way into Claude's dog house faster than just about any player I've seen here.

And, if he is better than KM, it isn't by much and certainly not enough IMO, to offset the toughness that KM brings.

As I've said before, every minute he plays over Morrow, is a minute wasted. If people want to argue for him over KM, then feel free, but in the end we're just spinning our wheels arguing over guys who will never be in the mix, if/when this team is a legit contender.

I just like KM a lot better than Teotman, but I'm under no illusion that either is ever going to be a positive difference maker going forward.

Get Seids healthy. play Morrow and sit KM and Trotman and there is a chance for success this year.

It's great seeing him gain some confidence in his physical game - a couple punishing AND safe plays of late. Really hard to overstate the surprising progress he's made on the year. He had a real tough start and it took a few periods to get back after the all star break but he's been a real bright light on the back end among a real shaky group.

Love the underdogs- can't wait to see him continue to develop some more confidence and start imposing himself on opposing forwards.
