So as many know, Hyman didn't make Team Canada 4 Nations roster. He started slow (I'd say unlucky with the quality of chances he had early) and then got hurt. A 54 goal campaign and 16 goal playoff from an all situations warrior wasn't quite good enough for the likes of Sweeney and Armstrong it seemed.

Since coming back from injury he has 8 goals in 7 games, and has scored against and beaten both the Team Canada GMs who snubbed him.

To add, he is currently playing through a broken nose from a puck to the face last game like an absolute warrior. He returned to that game too and very nearly completed his hat trick.

Safe to say this snub isn't looking great now, especially considering his ability to PK and work with McDavid.

Hyman is a dawg, and I hope they find a spot on the roster for this guy.

You guys know that key players not making that team is good for your club, right? That guys like Bouchard, Hyman, Draisaitl will be resting while Eichel, MacKinnon, Rantanen, etc. will be sweating their balls off 20 minutes a game.
Yup, and ekholm will drill Eichel through the glass.

Bouchard not fitting team Canada is really funny but oh well, I guess they can afford a bit of sandbagging.

Always liked Hyman as a complimentary piece but he has become an important cog and beast of his own for Edmonton. Tough call to leave him out of the Canadian squad but he his making Canada Mk II as that would also be a strong force. Would love him on the Bruins.

True hockey player and the epitome of a top line complimentary player.

He didn’t get “snubbed” by Team Canada. Form and health play a part in selecting rosters for tournaments.

I mean, great for him and the Oilers if he’s using some fake narrative as motivation - most of the great do it…but snubbed? Nah. Not when you have the array of talent Canada has to pick from.

What's that about his dad?

His dad is a rich, and literally bought a youth hockey league for Zach to play in.

It would be easy to argue he was a product of nepotism until he graduated to pro. You would have been wrong of course, but the optics were certainly there.

The amazing thing about Zach, is that despite the fact he grew up as a rich kid, he is literally the most humble, down to earth, loving, and genuine person you could ever hope to meet.

Some people are better than others. Zach is one of those people, but he doesn't know it.

I hope you know him personally, otherwise this is a really weird take.
