Player Discussion Zach Hyman

Considering Holloway is hurt all the time, I doubt it. (He has been out for weeks now)

Not to derail this thread, but Holloway being Mr. Glass is not a surprise, given his history (Hall 2.0 in that regard). Probably ends up less injury prone as he settles into the league more, but not a great start health-wise (especially his "I can't do pushups because of my wrist" chronic issue)

Do you even watch Hockey? Don't post something as fact if you don't have a clue.
He already clarified. Let's not pile on. He obviously wasn't aware how well Hyman was playing. Wished us luck. And this was the reaction he got..we are all Leon....lol

Is there any rule saying he can't play in a cast?

Edit: a player can play in a cast based on the referees judgement that it does not pose a safety threat to other players. Rule 9.6 dangerous equipment. So no....Pete Debo.....I mean the refs would never allow this.
How can you picture someone playing with a broken hand? He's not going to be able to do anything. It's like playing soccer with torn ligaments.

Sorry man bad timing we are all pretty pissed that Hyman is done for the year especially since the guy that hurt him told the media he was going to look to injure players if he got the chance. Appreciate the sentiment
WE should be happy. This time I'm not joking. So much angst when we're the only club standing and we have the team most worth watching in the whole NHL. These are the gravy times. Happy happy joy joy?

Sucks that Hyman is out. Injuries occur. Its rarely been a greater time to be an Oilers fan. Its a lot better than hearing that David Oliver is injured. Trust me. ;)

Yeah, this run is especially sweet for me after enduring so much suffering as a fan in my lifetime. I wasn't around for the glory days and only started watching hockey around the time Cujo rescued us from the half-decade of darkness in the 90s. I'm not even kidding when I say that other kids IN EDMONTON chirped me for liking the Oilers because they were cheering for the likes of Detroit and Colorado, and the Oilers "were losers."

Agree. They are on the cusp of going to the Stanley cup finals two years in a row, 3 WC finals in 4 years. This team is elite.

I mean if it was a finger or something, sure but wrist mobility is kinda important for shooting, passing etc.

Just no to J.Skinner. He will be -3 next game and we will all wonder what happened to our team D.

Max Jones should slot in and play 8-10mins.

There is zero chance he'd play enough shifts to be -3 if he's even remotely at fault after even a first goal against. He's on such a short leash.

I actually don't recall him being that bad in the first game (relative to others). He had 5 hits, I recall a couple of plays he broke up and thinking to myself "hey, he pulled a non-Eberle and got the puck out at the blueline". but maybe I missed things... the whole team was terrible those first two games.

Club is dialed in.

Hell I wouldn't even be surprised if Skinner does draw in he makes 10 hits himself since he saw what Hyman was bringing.

Do we actually know what the injury was? I suppose it doesn't matter, since he had surgery, so whether shoulder or wrist that likely means done for the season.

I saw right shoulder, slightly clipped maybe and then impact on the stick has a "pulling" motion to pop it out. He certainly was walking off with that dangling shoulder look (and not cradling a wrist as you normally would).
