A trade like that wouldn't seem to make much sense for Detroit at this time. Yzerman should have numerous options in free agency or via trade this offseason to acquire a better C than White. If they struck out on all their offseason targets then maybe you'd look at this type of deal. Even still, is White really that much of an upgrade on Suter if at all?...Veleno is starting to come on a bit and should be plenty capable of handling 3C duties next year. Would like to see Yzerman be more selective at this point, targeting high end players/assets, instead of just accumulating more bodies

What? We have been chasing that white whale since 2016. Why do you think this offseason is any different?

Wings should be more attractive to quality free agents than they were during the early days of their rebuild and they are in a better position to part with some future assets to acquire a top 6 C. Should we just give up and settle for mediocrity because past offseason plans didn't work out? No reason to limit your options, can always come back for an overpaid reclamation project

Detroit
Detroit is NOT a top choice destination for free agents, however, with Yzerman at the helm and the current and upcoming stable of good young talent in the system, Detroit will become more popular to sign with.

That is a very measured and accurate statement
