Christopher really stood out the most in that period, 1 goal and a few scoring chances.

Thoughts after one.

These guys impressing so far.

Braden Christopher - Dangerous every shift in different ways. Beauty goal. By far our best player in the first.
Ben Betker - Simple, smooth, physical.
Mitch Moroz - He did what you want him too.
Leon Draisaitl - Looked fast. Really worked hard getting back. Had some skilled plays.

Wow is this game physical.

BTW. the his on McDavid was fine. That is Virtanen's bread and butter. He's really deceptive with the reverse hit.

Just for the heck of it, I'd like to see Draisaitl on the left wing with McDavid. But maybe that wouldn't go over so well with Draisaitl.

In purgatory
Pretty sloppy thus far, about what you'd expect. Slepyshev hasn't looked particularly great, but he gets a pass considering the language barrier and style of play adjustments he has to contend with. Laleggia is a great skater, and I like his effort in the D zone alot more than Schultz.

Gotta love Chase's elbow to Virtanen... we need more of that abrasiveness.
