I can't wait for the post-season infomercial with Stauffer (because they don't do pressers anymore, Mckinnon might ask a tough question).

1. I saw progress.
2. this is the right coach, and time will prove it.
3. we will make the necessary changes
4. there is hope for next year.
5. keep the faith and be patient.
6. we are bringing Dave Hunter on board and Jaroslav Pozar is our new Czech scout.

I hate the idea that MacT is waiting til end of season to let Eakins go. You let the people you want here next year work with the team even if that mean MacT behind the bench.

No point in Eakins ruining them more.

Eakins will be back, it'll be great. :sarcasm: On the plus side we may make it out of October before were out of playoff contention with Scrivens in net.

They'll let the assistants go and trade 5 of the roster. Eakins will be back.

someone that knows how to make a thread with a poll should start one for: 'When will Eakins be fired?'

1. May.
2. October.
3. November.
4. December.
5. May 2015
6. years from now, because he will work out.

You might want to include the option :

7. years from now, when he DOES NOT work out.

As long as Mac F *****n T is around, that may end up happening.

Sure thing, we're almost at 1K posts in this thread so once we get there we can add the poll to the new thread.

MacT will be forced to make a tough decision soon.

Will he fire Eakins over Skype or just send him a DM on Twitter.

Seriously though, Eakins is the wrong coach for this team. A rookie coach was a terrible idea..

imo he's not a good coach but I believe he is learning and will continue to learn. I thought the same thing about Krueger. I think MacT said that about Kreuger too.

For sure. We gave MacT half a dozen years to slowly learn how to be an NHL coach. We should be patient and wait until Eakins' 2nd contract before we jump all over him. In a cap age where 7 year vets become UFA there is lots of time to let total newbs learn the ropes slowly on your team that is spending near the cap. That would only be like 240 million worth of salary spent while you wait to see if the guy will ever figure out how to be an NHL coach. If he doesn't catch on by year 5, we can start another 5 year newb coach process. ;)

It's the Oilers. Everyone learns on the fly ... Katz is learning how to get an arena, Mac T is learning how to GM, Eakins is learning how to coach, the kids are learning how to play, lol. And then you have one of the biggest egos in pro sports sitting as president of hockey ops. Pretty much the blind leading the blind.
