The draft has come and gone, and every team has a litany of new prospects added into their mix. Now that people have had a day to figure out who all their new prospects are, figured it would be time to see how teams pools are sorting out. For my post I’ll use U25 and less than 40 games played as the cut off, but if others have different benchmarks feel free to use them. For Calgary, my personal list looks like:

1)Zayne Parekh
Doesn’t need much introduction, he had one of the highest CHL draft year production levels seen in a long time and won CHL defenseman of the year.

2)Dustin Wolf
Has dominated every level up to the NHL so far, and is about to be a full time NHLer starting this season.

3) Matt Coronato
High skill with a great shot and motor. Had 42 points in 41 AHL games as a rookie with not much help on the roster.

4) Samuel Honzek
Rough draft +1 year, but was dealing with numerous injuries. Was always going to be a project, I’m one of the few Flames fans who still see lots of upside.

5) Jakob Pelletier
Great production in the AHL and was supposed to make the next step this past season but an injury derailed that plans.

6) Matvei Gridin
Led the USHL in scoring this past season and just oozes skill. Has some question marks about his compete levels but the talent is at a high level.

7) Hunter Brzustewicz
Would’ve led the OHL in scoring by defenseman is the aforementioned Parekh wasn’t also there. Great draft +1, his playmaking and IQ are his calling cards.

8) Andrew Basha
Plays fast and hard, with talent to boot. Could be a top 6 wing if everything goes right but plays the right way to be an effective middle 6er.

9)Jérémie Poirier
Had an insane start to the season in the AHL before being lacerated by a skate. Didn’t look the same when he came back from his injury, but will be likely back to full speed to start next year. Like always mentioned with him, will need to work on his defense to be an effective NHLer but the offensive skills are elite already.

10)William Strömgren
Most Flames fans would probably rather have an Étienne Morin here or maybe Suniev, but I love this player. He has a great mix of size, speed and skill; but has always struggled to put it together to get production. By the end of this season in the AHL it looked like it was finally coming together

HM: Morin, Suniev, Bell
Graduated: Zary, Pospisil

Would be my 10. Lots of forwards (Sidorov, Gaucher, pitre, pettersson, pastujov, myatovic, masse, Terrance, nesterenko) who are right there, but none that have distinguished themselves yet.

I'm leaving Benson out but I put Levi back in despite the last time I did this for @neelynugs on the Prospect Board... so....

1A - Matt Savoie C/RW
1B - Jiri Kulich LW/C
2 - Devon Levi G
3 - Konsta Helenius RC
4 - Isak Rosen LW/RW
5 - Ryan Johnson LD
6 - Noah Ostlund LC
7 - Vsevelod Komarov RD
8 - Anton Wahlberg LC/RW
9- Maxim Strbak RD

HM's would make this go on too far. Shout out to Viktor Neuchev though, the kid's got game.

Yeah, I’d take our group against anyone else in the league.

Things are still looking rough for Ottawa, imagine if we had not drafted Boucher kept the 7th and 12th overall pick (likely lower without Debrincat). Yakemchuk would likely be the 2nd or 3rd best prospect instead of the 1st

1. Carter Yakemchuk
2. Tyler Kleven
3. Zach Ostapchuk
4. Stephen Halliday
5. Jorian Donovan
6. Oscar Pettersson
7. Gabriel Eliasson
8. Roby Jarventie
9. Filip Nordberg
10. Leevi Merilainen

7 - 10 could be in any order tbh, there are also a few others that could be mentioned instead

Looks about right. I have Ostlund a couple of spots higher, though, and Novikov missing by a hair. No idea how to rate Poltapov.

I don't even know that LA has 10 prospects worth mentioning at this point. Here are the guys 21 and under that are... maybe worth discussing?

1. Brandt Clarke
2. Liam Greentree
3. Koehn Ziemmer
4. Martin Chromiak
5. Francesco Pinelli
6. Jacob Dvorak
7. Samuel Helenius
8. Ryan Conmy
9. Matthew Mania
10. Otto Salin

Once Clarke graduates this year, we're probably a bottom five prospect pool. I left out goalies, and Slukynsky and George are interesting, but neither significantly move the needle.

My picks for the Jackets:

I'm comfortable putting Cayden Lindstrom #1, but Mateychuk and Jiricek are close behind and I am not sure who I'd take of those two if you made me pick.

1. Cayden Lindstrom, C
2. Denton Mateychuk, LD
3. David Jiricek, RD
4. Gavin Brindley, W
5. Jet Greaves, G
6. Sergei Ivanov, G
7. Charlie Elick, RD
8. Stanislav Svozil, LD
9. Luca Del Bel Belluz, C

Philadelphia's prospects are a bit flat after the clear top two I think. Lots of good role guys and most of them will see NHL time, but unlikely to have many/any legit top line guys.

1) Matvei Michkov, obviously.
2) Oliver Bonk
3) Jett Luchanko
4) Emil Andrae
5) Denver Barkey
6) Samu Tuomaala
7) Alexei Kolosov
8) Bobby Brink
9) Elliott Desnoyers
10) Jack Berglund
