Needs:
1. Top 6 goal scoring winger
2. #4/5 RHD
3. Middle 6 winger
4. Team toughness

Honestly, no clue. I don't necessarily think we will address any of these "needs" until the offseason, or even until into next season, and I am ok with that. I could see our deadline addition being Michael McCarron or something like that. Hell, the fact that we likely won't be selling Giroux and Cousins is a win in and of itself.

As if the Leafs are trading for a C better than Matthews and Tavares.
I don’t think it’s crazy to want someone better than Timmons/Myers.

Caps, my opinion:
Need:
Goal scoring LW/C, the kind of guy that could play 3C, upgrade on Eller, OR fill a top 6 goal scoring wing role (as good or better than McMichael and Protas), whichever they need on any given night.
Available:
Any picks or prospects not named Leonard, Cristall, or Hutson, though those guys would be available for a star level non-rental.
(That leaves: Iorio, LaPierre, Miroschichenko, Chesley, Cam Allen, Parascek, Mateiko, Protas, Suzdalev, Sikora, Muggli, more)
Caps would likely need some salary retained, or sending Sonny Milano back. They would also prefer to send out more players under contract then they acquire.

It's not a team "need" but I kind of need to see Ryan Suter get paid by a 4th team in the same season to either play or not play hockey for them. I feel like there could be another level to hit here.

Washington Capitals:
Picks: Their 2025 1st, 2nd, 4-5th rounders, Boston's 2025 2nd rounder, Carolina's 3rd rounder. Their 2026 1st, 2nd, 4-7th rounders, Vegas' 4th rounder.
Prospects: Leonard, Hutson, probably Cristall too are unavaiable, but I think last year's first rounder Parascak and all other prospects would be available.
- A scoring forward, no particular position, who can provide some more punch and scoring line depth, ideally with size and grit in the bargain. Brock Nelson would be perfect.
- Maybe a depth defenseman, likely worth around a 3rd rounder or so.
- Sign and call up Ryan Leonard after the Frozen Four.

IMO, the Ducks have a lot of assets in futures either picks or prospects available. If a team is looking for those items, the Ducks are a perfect partner. If a team is looking for a hockey trade, the Ducks are probably not a fit.
For sure, their young players on the team are not available. The only way players like Zegras, McTavish, etc... are involved in any trade would be for a true superstar, and they are part of a larger package. The chances of that happening are pretty slim.
