I don’t think it’s that bad. Missing a top C and top D can probably be said about most prospect systems

Cowan has top line potential, tier 2 can all be quality pieces. Have some potential dark horses in the lower tiers
It’s not the worst, there’s some serviceable NHL potential. Compared to other prospect pools, feels light on high end quality and quantity. The same could be said for most contending teams because the high end talent is already on the roster.

  1. LD Simon Edvinsson - top pair two-way defenseman
  2. GT Sebastian Cossa - starter
  3. RD Axel Sandin-Pellikka - second pair powerplay specialist
  4. RC Nate Danielson - second-line two-way center
  5. LC Marco Kasper - middle-six power forward
  6. RW Michael Brandsegg-Nygård - middle-six power forward
  7. LW Carter Mazur - middle-six power forward
  8. LD Albert Johansson - bottom pair shutdown defenseman
  9. GT Trey Augustine - back-up
  10. RD William Wallinder - bottom pair two-way defenseman

Honorable mentions: Becher, Buium, Finnie, Forslund, James, Kiiskinen, Lombardi, Plante, Savage, and Söderblom. You can make a case for Buchelnikov, especially given how little pressure there is in rushing him, but outside of his shot, his game leaves a lot to be desired.

I'm excited about having Catton, but the need for high-potential D in the prospect pool is obvious.
Bro, the Kraken is loaded. If Eduard Sale unlocks their potential they become a serious threat.

How do you feel about Murashov? Any idea when he comes over?
He was a last minute add to the Penguins development camp earlier this week when nobody expected him to come. I think he wants to play in NA eventually but still spoke about going back to Russia next year at least. He only let in one goal in the prospect tournament to boot.

I’ve been pumping his tires forever. I think he’s a NHL caliber goalie today. He has little fanfare but he’ll be the next Shesterkin/Sorokin imo. Had he got to play in the world juniors everyone would know his name and he’d be considered one of the best goalie prospects in the world. High hopes for him

Blue Jackets:

1) Cayden Lindstrom
2a) David Jiricek
2b) Denton Mateychuk
4) Gavin Brindley
5) Jordan Dumais
6) Jet Greaves
7) Stanislav Svozil
8) Sergei Ivanov
9) Charlie Elick

10 Could probably be any of Luca Marrelli, James Malatesta, Evan Gardner, or Luca Del Bel Belluz depending on your criteria. I’d probably lean towards Marrelli personally.

I like the pool because it really feels like Lindstrom/Jiricek/Mateychuk can be 1a, 1b, 1c in any order.
As a Moosehead fan, I wouldn't get to attached to Jordan Dumais. At least not when he finds the Columbus equivalent of the alehouse(bar 1 block from the arena).

Just curious to hear if Chibrikov over Rashevsky is a common opinion amongst Jets fans and what the thought behind this is? Rashevsky has always had better stats in Russia than Chibrikov despite being drafted 100 spots later.
I mean if comparing stats you have to adjust for age so you can only compare their MHL/VHL production. Rashevsky didn’t make headway in the KHL until his U22 season. Chibrikov is only just entering his U22 season this fall. Chibrikov’s U20 production in Russia was far superior to Rashevsky’s.

After 6 it really is a toss up. Honestly, you could make an argument that the guys I have 15-20 should be as high as 7. The Ducks pool is so deep it is pretty crazy.

Funny enough I had Cutter and Sennecke both 5th OA on my list in their respective draft years.

I have a minority opinion here that Sennecke is the more valuable prospect than Cutter (or Zell if you include him). The upside is much higher.

What @thrillhous said, but also a bit of out of sight out of mind, wondering if he'll ever come over to Winnipeg so does he even count as a prospect lol. They're still in contact so we'll see. After the top 3 the order can be vastly different depending who you ask but Lambert, McGroarty and Salomonsson are probably top 3 on 95% of Jets fans lists.

Something like that... I wish it was stronger a bit but losing Slaf, Guhle, Dach and Newhook on top of the terrible Mesar pick does that, I guess.

What's your evaluation on Konyushkov and Volokhin?

10. Thomas Milic (151st 2023) or maybe Kevin He if you want to exclude goalies

Jealous of you guys getting He. Dunno if he'll pan out but love his mix of brains, skills and decent size.

Damn, I totally forgot to list Bogdan. I think Konyushkov is one of our better prospect and somehow it isn't even outrageous that I forgot him. Swap him and Kapanen.

Volokhin I have behind Fowler and Dobes as of now.
